I am going to see if I can get a law made and have congress slip it in there that allows me to drive as fast as possible at all times. I will make sure it's slipped into a defense spending bill so that anyone who votes against it hates america.

interesting.... seems the thread title is misleading.
Sen. Susan Collins (news, bio, voting record), R-Maine, plans to introduce legislation next week that would extend the office's life for about another year.

The inspector general's office "has proven to be a much-needed watchdog auditing reconstruction contracts in Iraq and spotlighting numerous cases of waste, fraud and abuse," Collins, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said Friday.

Sen. John Warner (news, bio, voting record), the Virginia Republican who chairs the Armed Services Committee and met with Bowen this week, said he supports extending the office's work. Also on board are Democratic Sens. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut.

The office, which began work in January 2004, was supposed to be temporary from the start, lasting until much of the $18 billion initially allocated for reconstruction was spent.

Earlier this year, Collins pushed through the Senate a measure that would allow the agency to review more than $6 billion in additional funding aimed at stabilizing Iraq — in effect keeping the IG office in business.
it seems hunter wants to put a definitive date as to when the sigir should come to an end.
