It's the top recommended diary right now, which shows you how powerful people can turn against Markos's opinions (they've done this several times)

Markos does not "control" the site, and they do not blindly follow him

What is the dailykos???!!! I gather it's some sort of blog? I went on the site, went to "about," and found the guy who started the site...but what's all this about his minions and their being zombies?

I really think there is quite a bit of groupthink on certain issues.. certainly if Kos does something stupid like blowing off the TN race a few days before the election, thus providing ammo for Ford's opponents, people are going to be less likely to defend him

But, generally, I think, his word is gospel in a lot of things. I've seen them attack posters who question him like rabid dogs, but not lately.

People were defensive when the MSM was like "Kos...wtf is this....lets investigate" and NRO was on the warpath that DKos was slime of humanity

So at that time we had a lot of new viewers, or one-time viewers who were investigating and then would never return...

At that same time, right after Markos being on MTP, you had a big backlash against Markos in several posts about "selling out to Warner's presidential bid" (well that turned out to be accurate

Basically everyone decided it was time to bring up every questionable action Markos had taken right after he entered the spotlight and people were checking the site out

I didn't join in, but I agreed with a lot of the comments that people were trying to pick a fight, and a lot of them were doing it at a horrible time

Also, this isn't an isolated incident, people have gotten top recommended diaries about Markos's comments on other things...I won't post because they would just be ammo for certain people on this board who hate Markos with the passion of 1000 white suns
