| Let me introduce myself. I'm BigRob. I'll be 35 next week (the 14th). I currently reside in the middle of a hellhole the rest of the world calls Kentucky. I'm actually close to Fort Knox and have people ask all the time where I'm from and they're surprised when I say here. Needless to say,I don't speak like a hick or act like a redneck. Somehow I managed to evolve. The most important person to me is my fiancee Camille. She is truely my soulmate. We have a truely effortless relationship in that we get along so well and our like/dislikes/beliefs are so in tune. We have a relationship that on one hand makes other people sick and on the other hand makes them jealous. My hobbies are deverse to say the least! I'm a certified physical trainer. I love working out and getting the endorphine rush. I've also studied various fighting styles and dabbled in MMA but can't compete due to injuries (knee and compress L3 & L4 in lower back ). I'm well enough to train but I don't trust my body to hold up against another trained fighter in a full contact/submission match. I'm also a certified Private Investigator. I just decided to take a course in it so I did. I specialized in executive protection because of my background. But I'm currently in college studying to be a Physical Therepy Assistant, but may switch to criminal justice. I originally wanted to do CJ but I don't want to be a cop and by the time I graduate I'd be too old for the Gov initial groups (FBI,DEA,CIA, and so on). If I were 10 years younger I'd do those in a heartbeat! Anyway, with my background in training, Physical Therapy came up and I want to help people so that's what I ended up with. But I'm really enjoying my psychology class though and may try to do something in the CJ/psychology area. I also enjoy socialogy, especially the works of Desmond Morris. I believe wholeheartedly in freedom. I also believe that freedom needs to be tempered with responsibility. Most people forget that and think they have a free pass....they don't. I believe in capital punishment. I believe it should be done swiftly and in public to act as a deterrent. We should get away from the social club atmosphere of the system and let the criminals sit in the cell and think about why they're there. If it's "cruel" to be confined, good! Don't do anything that may put you there. Rapist and child molesters should be castrated. I believe it's a business owners choice to allow smoking or not in his establishment. There should not be ordinances or laws forcing him. If people don't like a place because of smoke, don't go. (I'm a non-smoker btw) I believe marijuana should be legalized and taxed like tobacco upon sell and the laws of it's use in pubic the same as alcohol.IE DUI, public use etc. I believe we need to strenthen our borders, especially to the south. The border guard as it stands now is worthless. They should shoot on sight. I don't believe in religion I find it an attempt for otherwise socially adept people to try and belong. And tendancy for them to end up in a groupthink mindset totally pisses me off. I hate it when they believe because of "faith" no matter what to the contrary you present them. Modern religion is not about "saving people",it's about making money and/or forcing others to think like you do. If forced to ask what I believe in (as a higher power) I'd say I want to believe in Karma. I believe good people should be rewarded and bad people punished. I believe in the immediate withdrawl of our troops from the middle east.........so we can bomb it into a huge glass parking lot. There's the basics...some of you may think I'm cool, others may think I'm an ass. That's the cool thing about America's, we can all believe differently and voice the differences. I'm sorry if there's mis-spellings or incomplete thoughts, I was typing this between sets during a workout. | ||||

| I like to think independently and will choose the best candidate based on their qualifications across party lines. That being said, I mostly fall on democrat side. I despise our current leadership and the direction we are going. Open for a good debate and will usually not reply right away until I weigh both sides of argument. | Hi there, this board looks like it’s good some good minds on it. Here to talk about all sorts of subjects, particularly the war on drugs and other national policy. Mostly lean towards libertarianism, but I have exceptions. I am in my early 30's, live in Northern California and work in nutrition education. | ||||

| Hello everyone, My current job is that of a merchandise planning analyst for one of the largest discount retailers. Which one? I will provide a hint: the one that has an affinity for all things red. Prior to joining this company, I worked as a hurricane insurance adjuster in south western Louisiana right after Katrina and Rita. That job turned out to be quite unfulfilling, a place where I could not make the difference that I wanted. For religion, I consider myself a Prostestant Christian. I received my undergrad degree in Marketing and HR Management from Georgia State University. Currently I am pursuing my MBA at a yet to be determined university in Minneapolis. My choice is either Univ. of Minnesota or Univ. of St. Thomas. The choie pretty much boils down to cost and time to complete the degree. My hobbies are diverse and too numerous to list, but here are a few: rock climbing, nature photography, classic film (and Mel Brooks movies), travel, visiting museums, investing, running, modeling 1:6 scale figures, antique American furniture, current events, attending the symphony and plays, trying new beers, and going out to dance with friends. I presently reside in Minneapolis, MN due to work, but I also have a an address in Atlanta, GA, my "real home." For my political ideaoly, I am not sure whether I consider myself an Independent, a Moderate, or a Libertarian. I am able to find areas of the major party platforms that I subscribe to; however, I will always be hesitant to say I agree with the Republicans on this or I agree with the Democrats on that. In most instances, I believe the Federal government's role should be that of a facilitator, frame work creator, and a bare minimum safey net. I believe this because the governments can do few things right and even fewer things well. I do not advocate annarchy or hold a generally jaded view of the government, but I do believe the nuts and bolts of all governments are regular people: people that are normal and capable of failure, people that clock in at 8 am and leave at 5 pm, and people that have lives of their own. I believe having a sense of humor and being able to laugh at oneself are critical. Pardon the typos, I made this entry in haste. Last edited by rjones25; 04-01-2007 at 11:07 PM.. Reason: typos | ||||

| hello hello Ok...introductions...*clears throat* I'm a 35 year old investment banker from NYC. I have a beautiful wife and 2 little girls that I love to death. I guess I'd consider myself an atheist though I love the teachings on the surface of most religions. I strive to be a good person and to raise my girls the same way. Politically....I'm a liberal. I'm really struggling with the upcoming presidential election though. Lots of issues and lots of candidates. I figured, aw what the hell, I'll join a forum. So here I am...I look forward to conversing with you all. | ||||
