| um, i thought micks were the derogative term for Irish.. because of all the "Mc" somethingsomething infront of their names... since when did religion come into play with that?

| Job - My name is Kim. I started my own business called GOAL Organizing. GOAL stands for Get Organized at Last. I also named it GOAL because it was my goal to create a business doing the things I love. Fortunately, my husbands job allows me the luxury to not have to depend on my income to pay the bills. I can push it when I am feeling inspired and lay low when I'm not. I never take this for granted and thank God for this privaledge everyday. Career - Throughout the years, I've had many jobs (mostly part time) but my main job was to raise my children. Now, Trish is 20 and Alex is 17 and I am so proud and so happy to have them. They have been my career I guess you would say. My other love is decorating, designing, and organizing. Just about anything that involves creating and using your imagination. I've done this for family and friends for many years. Three years ago, I bottled it, and now I sell it through GOAL Organizing. Religion - WOW That's a complicated one. First of all, I don't like the word, "religion" It conjures up all kinds of negative thoughts and feelings. I think of myself as very spiritual but not religious at all. I believe in "God" if that is what you want to call Him. I believe in a powerful, loving, knowing of all things, guiding (if you seek it) forgiving, creator of the universe. I believe He wants us to be happy, kind, and helpful to others, seek His guidance and wisdom in all things, and live in a way that pleases Him. I call myself a Christian, but I guess that isn't really true. The reason, Christians believe there is only one way to "get to heaven" I don't believe my loving God would exclude anyone from spending eternity in His warmth, love and light because of not believing that Jesus was the son of God. What about Jews? What about indigenous people? I believe what my heart tells me, and I believe that God speaks to me through my heart. Schooling - I was never much of a student. I was a community college drop-out. It took me years to be able to define what it was I didn't like. I was motivated by fear (my mother put SO much pressure on me to do better and there were awful counsequences for not living up to the expectations). It made me feel so bad about myself so often. Didn't know how to study, to retain things that did not interest me, and was bored with the material. ADD didn't help. Hobbies - So many...Surfing the net, reading, watching movies, arts and crafts, decorating, coloring anything, lunch with friends, suduko, crossword puzzles, shopping thrift stores, making something out of nothing, and garage sale shopping. Location - Presently living in Cumming, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta. Before this was...Lansdale, Pa outside Philly, Richmond Va., Lenexa Ks. outside Kansas City, Greenville, SC, and Charlotte, NC. Political Ideology and Party - Another word I don't like...Politics. I will not be assigned to a "party". I am a very independent thinker and rarely agree with a set of beliefs put together by a group. Give me one issue at a time. Seems like political parties are more about "us and them" than about the issue at hand. | ||||

| Howdy ya'll! I'm a hillbilly from the mtns of NC. Currently living on the NC coast with hubby & 2 kids. We own/operate our own business traing & boarding dogs (all types, all breeds; working K-9's to the family pet). This keeps us quite busy. Religion....I'm a layspeaker for our local UMC (methodist) but I've also recently joined this church Welcome - Tomorrow's World Oh yeah, in case it isn't obvious, I'm a faith-filled Jesus freak. Schooling? Eh, not really. Life has been the greatest educator I've experienced thus far. Hobbies... We hunt most of our meat, so I guess that's not really a hobby. Gardening...but we eat what we grow so that's not really a hobby either. That's just a part of life. I like playing online some. I make beautiful jewlery in .925 & that's more of a hobby than a course of income these days. Are Cub Scouts a hobby? Bible study & local politics are some of my favorite hobbies. Politics.... I changed my Unaffiliated status when Alan Keyes ran for Pres in '00 to Republican in order to vote for him in the primaries. I stayed a Rep because I found myself agreeing with a more conservative platform. I am an electoral judge for my precinct & have become quite active in my local Rep groups. I am an organizer for 2 local Ron Paul meetup groups & assistant organizer for another. I am drowning in a sea of neo-cons & thought I'd try to find some like minded folk.....and thus ended up here! And I'm loving these smileys! | ||||

| Howdy ya'll! I'm a hillbilly from the NC mtns, living on the NC coast for 10 years now. Hubby & I own/operate a boarding & training kennel here, hubby's been running it since '83. We board & train all dogs from K-9 teams to the family pet. I'm a faith-filled Jesus Freak. Born into Christianity, left for about 8 years (and called myself an athiest) & came full circle about 12 years ago. I am a layspeaker for my local UMC & also a new member to this church- Welcome - Tomorrow's World I am looking forward to the day when I can renounce the UMC; it's not long now, but I have to get some more speaking experience under my belt before doing that. I like to think I'm not your typical Christian. Hobbies include serving as electoral judge for my precinct as well as being very active in local Rep clubs. We hunt, but since that's how we get a majority of our meat I don't know if that qualifies as a hobby or not. Same with organic gardening. We eat what what we grow or barter for & avoid Walmarx & other chain stores like the plague. I'm a fiber artist who has moved onto .925 & since the birth of my son, that really is more of a hobby than a source of income. I also like to play with guns. Target practice is a favorite hobby. Politics.... I was unaffiliated til '00 when Alan Keyes ran for president, then I re-registered as a Repbulican in order to vote for him in the NC primaries. It really upset my extreme liberal family, so I remained that way. I do have mainly conservative views on most issues.....but have strong Libertarian & Constitutionalist leanings. If Ron Paul does not win the primaries, I will very likely become unaffiliated again. I am an organizer for 2 local Ron Paul meetup groups & asst organizer for one other. Sometimes it feels like I am drowning in a sea of neocons here on the crystal coast. I hope to find a breath of fresh air here. Schooling... I had my eldest child when I was 17. She's almost 18 now and raising her has been my priority. I'm life educated and I'm ok with that. There ya go. | ||||
