| Hey all. Thanks to the guys that PM'd me to let me know about this place. Let's see now... What is your Job / Career / Religion / Schooling / Hobbies / Location / Political Ideology / Political Party / etc? My name is Mike. I'm 41 (now all you kids can stop arguing about who is oldest) Career: I work for the Medical division of Siemens. I've been working for them for 21 years. I started out in their depot spare parts department in Schaumburg IL taking parts orders. Did a pretty good job and was offered a transfer to NC to be in charge of that offices spare parts. Did a whole lot of stuff in that office over the years and taught myself IT and became the un-official office IT guy while I did my other jobs. At one point I was doing all the IT and managing almost 30 people that did billings/contracts/spare parts etc. Now I am a Service Engineer that works out of my home working on hospital PACS equipment (digital radiology). Religion: I was brought up with no religion but I did believe in God. I became an agnostic at about 24. Atheist by 25 (let's face it. An agnostic is just a cowardly atheist ). Then "got religion" again by about 30. I now consider myself a Methodist. When I decided I wanted to start going to a church my wife and I went to a dozen or so and finally found one we both loved because of the personality for the minister. If the minister leaves though I would probably stop going. He is amazing. Even our non-religious/atheist friends that have been to a service loved hearing him speak.Schooling: I'm a High School grad I have been working since I was 12. About the time my mom and dad got divorced. We didn't have much so I worked to help my mom pay the bills and give me some spending money. There has been 1 year that I did not work since then and that was my Jr year in High School when I took football seriously. But a torn ACL took care of that. After High School I worked and went to a community college in an electronics program. When the job at Siemens was offered at full time at $7 an hour (GASP ) I jumped at it and quit school.Hobbies: I love computers, but not as much as I did before they became my full time job . I just started getting into photography with a Nikon D50. I love motorcycles but haven't had one for almost 8 years I have been married for 20 years and have two sons. Zack is 7 and Jake is 4. I met my wife when I was 15, she was 13. We became best friends about a year later and finally started dating when I was about 18 (about the time I figured out that if I dated her, I was going to marry her ).We love to travel, which is probably why we waited 13 years to have kids. My family is from Germany and wife's family is from Hawaii. So we have been to both places a lot and consider ourselves pretty dang lucky to have great family in great places. Location: We live in High Point, NC. We were both raised in IL. When I got the transfer to NC we got married the day before we moved. We were both still living at our parents house so our move to NC were both our first time on our own. It was fun and we love it here. Politics: I'm conservative. Registered Republican but have voted for Democrats in the past. Wow, that was wordy... Last edited by Stylerod; 07-20-2006 at 11:51 AM. | ||||

| What is your Job None, ..., i'm registered partially sighted. I get £163.?? a fortnight plus my local taxes (approx £10/week), plus the rent for the condemed cockroach infested local council owned tower block (about £40/week) all paid by the taxpayers, creditors, oil royalty payers of Her Majesties realm. To have the same standard of living & pay tax I would need a £12,000 pa job. I am paid far too much benefit & I try & spend about £60/week on the 'social good' however I see it at the time. Currently I'm helping a friend cope with being a single parent to 3 kids one of whom has a dramatic but fairly minor but time consuming medical problem / Career I was an employed computer programmer/system analyst for about 3 years & a self employed one for about another 5. I've also worked a while shuffling paper to no great purpose for the state & a stock-room assistant in a large record retail chain, ..., but basically I was/am a professional welfare recipiant / Religion Respecfull interested agnostic, ..., I want the religious to tell me of their direct experience of God etc, ..., i'm bitterly disappointed saeemingly 99.999% of the time / Schooling State schools till aged 13 in typically normal C of E schools A good 'mid-table' liberal-ish Privately funded school till aged 16, paid for by the multinational my father worked for A rather-poor 'elitist' quasi-liberal Privately funded boarding scool till 18 3 years at Uni doing Management Sciences which I failed (quite an achievment), I never should have gone to Uni but it was 'expected' etc, ..., apologies to the British taxpayer / Hobbies Even when I worked (before I broke down & couldnt gewt the parts ?) this was a distinction I didnt make, ..., work-=play or should do, ..., I'm playing/working right now. but intense musical snobbery, & current affairs are interests, ..., but not spelling / Location assorted libraries in & around Birmingham in central England / Political Ideology pragmatist (with liberal-ish bias in your terms I suppose). I dont really like ideology. I am opposed to mindless consumtion. / Political Party None ever, ..., but I doubt I'll ever vote Labour again coz they didnt throw Blair out after he led the UK to war in the fashion that he did. / etc? , ..., always p.s. blame b2w edit: My name is Mark Last edited by avsp; 07-21-2006 at 09:37 AM. | ||||

| What is your Job / Career / Religion / Schooling / Hobbies / Location / Political Ideology / Political Party / etc? career: i work for a company named "ojala & company" as an architectural designer. we specialize in precast tilt-up buildings, mostly office/warehouse type structures. we have also done a couple of banks and other misc buildings. since starting here, i have designed 4 buildings, 2 of which have been built, and construction is just starting up on a 3rd. the company itself is a design/build firm. we buy the land, design the buildings, construct the building, and sometimes even manage the property. religion: im a firm atheist. religion has never been part of my life, even as a kid. just something i never had an interest in. school: my original plan was to enlist in the marine corps right after high school. i wasnt thinking about college really, just wanted to kick some ass. i did enlist and was shipped off @ 17 (youngest guy in my platoon) but 4 weeks into boot camp i shredded my left knee for a 2nd time and was medically discharged (the 1st time i injured it was from a fall while rock climbing). i tried enlisting 2 more times but the u.s armed forces just figured i was damaged goods :sad2: that left me with no other choice but to go to college. i started out as an illustration major at a small private art school (rocky mountain college of art and design anyway, the drafting stuff ultimately got me a job, and i have just clawed my way up the ladder ever since.hobbies: im really sort of a spaz most of the time. im a big movie buff, mosty older flicks, not so much new stuff. i check out concerts and draw when i can, hang out with my boys as often as possible (i love being a dad). i read, but its pretty sporadic. sometimes i wont read anything for a couple months, then read like 3 books in a row i work out a couple times a week, but dont really enjoy it probably my most enjoyable hobby is cruising around and bombing hills on my longboard (especialy at night).location: i was born and raised in south denver, co. i still live in the metro area, and have never really moved too far from where i grew up. i currently live in englewood, co, which is a more urban type suburb of denver. i hate the idea of suburbs with culd-a-sacs and knowing all my neighbors business, so i try and stay as close to the city as possible. i will always come back to colorado, but i would like to try living in another state eventually, probably washington or oregon. (i could never move east, cause i would miss the mountains political ideology: i guess im pretty liberal. its not like i set out to be liberal, its just sort of how i view the world. i dont like any religion in government, but i could give a shit about "under god" on money or the pledge of allegiance. im not against war, as long as its a justified war. i dont believe in preemptive strikes really. im pro-choice in general, but on a personal level im more pro-life. i believe the government should take care of its citizens, to an extend. not support them, but pick them up when they fall, and help them walk straight. i dont like guns, but feel like others are free to own them if they choose. although ill never understand why regular citizens need assault rifles. i can probably ramble forever on this stuff..im a registered democrat, and generally do vote along party lines. however, i still listen to what everyone has to say. im not 100% loyal to the democratic party. if a republican is the better candidate, he wil get my vote. my name is paul, and im 28 (29 in about 2 weeks) i have been married almost a year, but have been dating 6 years. my wifes name is kalina, we met in an AOL chat denver chat room im also a short mexican dude that doesnt speak spanish, and has never been to mexico Last edited by SICKGUY; 07-20-2006 at 03:33 PM. | ||||

. I've seen him play more than a few times myself. I think whatever jump-up CD of his that came out in like 1996 or so was my first mix CD. All of my other jungle CDs were random ragga compilations. They were kind of "whatever" then but now it's kind of cool to be able to bust out some classic tune in a set if there are CDJs handy | ||||
