Any of you guys know anything about laptops?

I wanted to get a good cheap laptop, but have good enough CPU power that it can load .pdf, .doc, and power point presentations quickly, but nothing much else

Strictly a business laptop

what kind of processor should i be looking at...is 512 of ram enough?

Intel Pentium M or preferably core duo processor. 512 is enough.

I'd look into IBM or Asus. Any of their mainstream builds will be more than enough for office applications and internet usage. They're the most reliable and will last you the longest.

The only laptops I have ever had were Dells. 3 in the last 7 years or so. I gotta say they have all been great. And I'm not the most gentle person with them either.
