Kittah has tapeworm.

He got it from one of those mice/squirrel/rabbits he's killed.

Tapeworm segments are fucking GROSS. They're like, still alive and wriggling.

5 dollars a pill for the medication.

I have 2 siamese cats that i had lots of trouble getting rid of the worms for a few months last year, because they were SO stubborn about taking the pills, it was almost impossible to get em both pilled on the same day. So id end up getting one finally dealt with, then the other wouldnt get enough, and end up passing it back to the other.

Every other cat/dog ive had or taken care of (my neighbors dog had cancer that i was giving him pills orally for 2 years) has had almost no problem, these two will NOT swallow. They wont take the pill in a treat, they wont eat it mashed in food. I was so exausted trying, the last vet visit i bought 6 pills for 30 bucks each (sigh) and ended up wasting 2, i finally crushed them up with the syrup leftover in a can of their catfood and stuck it in a syringe, and layed them down till they swallowed every last bit. Little fucking bastards.

Shove it in their mouth, clamp their mouth shut, rub their throat until they swallow it.

Sometimes the clever little bastard will fake swallowing it though. Little cunt.

It never worked. I thought myself the expert on pilling a cat before this, ive done it countless times, these little bastards will NOT swallow ever ever! hehe

Theres actually a neat little device that looks like a syringe, but it has little plastic holders on the end to fit the pill in, so you can get it way back in the cats throat and release it so its so far back the swallow mechanism happens automatically, thats what im gunna have to do if they ever need pills again.

I agree with this doctor but he left something off. Don't forget to have the super glue CLOSE. It sucks to have to try to hold their arteries while searching for a bottle. It took me 4 times before I finally figured that one out.

this is precisely why one should never take advice from a layman. DO NOT super glue it shut. one should glue velcro strips on either side of the cut to ensure a viable opening for any future need (ie, more pills).

please, unless you are too a doctor, don't give out medical advice.

Sorry, I'm not a doctor but I've had good luck with the super glue so I figured I'd pass that along. I used velcro strips once but the cat's head kept coming off when I kicked it. Super glue has a much higher bonding strength and I could still full-out punt the cat and the head would remain firmly attached.

the initial cut in the cats neck is only a slit. one need not remove the whole head. fucking amateurs.

fuck...... my bad.

I usually cut most of the way through but leave enough to act like a hinge. That wouldn't handle a shot with steel-toed 11 1/2 boot though, hence the super glue. The cat didn't squirm *too* much when I used nail polish remover to dissolve the glue at the next pill time.

I'll try your way next time, thanks
