| During/After Kerry joke fiasco, Dems had/have 16+ Generic Ballot Edge Election 2006 54-38 Biggest advantage for a party to have 3 days going into an election, and nowhere to go but up as election waves almost always reach their climax on election day if it has been growing in the preceeding weeks...unless there is a Nov 5th surprise (ie Saddam's verdict causes the insurgency and militia groups to disband and all hug each other) | ||||

| I get nervous at calling elections before they occur, especially since the other side is still counting the votes. I'll be tapping a Diebold machine on Tuesday, and can only hope my votes get to my candidates. Let's hope this trend keeps up. | ||||

| It's always easy to make these claims before an election. I've seen these kinds of predictions fail miserably. It's nothing more than partisan politics. | ||||

| I get nervous too, but at this rate I think Jesus himself would have to come back and tell people to vote for Republicans for them to be saved from losing the House I think the Senate may surprise us with the wave of anti-Republican sentiment.. but we'll see. | ||||

| Really, I'm not worried about Montana because there's no electronic voting and Burns is still in an incredibly weak position, even if you think he is tied, I can't imagine the undecideds breaking for a Republican incumbent in an anti-GOP year, plus he had a 21% lead in the first batch of absentee ballots (lost the link) | ||||

If people were expecting the House to flip in 2000, well, it came close, but there wasn't any real expectation In 2001, the Dems were just 5 house seats shy of a majority, and they captured the Senate after Jeffords flipped After the Clinton years, and an expected failed Bush presidency followed by the anger in the 2000 recount, the Democrats would had a majority in all 3 branches by 2004...except 911 happened, sort of odd that only a national disaster under a GOP congress and president saved the Republican Party from falling apart | ||||

| And you think they all really support all these things or do you think that there could be other reasons to vote along with the majority who will have it passes with or without their vote? | ||||

| In 1994 the GOP had the majority by 54. Currently the GOP has 232 seats to the 200 seats for the Democrats. The only reason the Republicans are in jeapoardy, if they truly are, is because of President Bush and his all time low popularity. While he has alienated many Republicans, they can't seem to distance themselves from him. Added: Traditionaly it's always been hard to vote out an incumbent. | Well, I meant more in terms of the principles that America was founded on. A restricted government, freedom above all, being a nation of laws, and so on and so forth.. rather than something I feel is a personal value, ie: morals | ||||

| They've found more of them than they had when they voted for Iraq, when they voted for the first Patriot Act ( the revised version still sucks, but it's much better.. and they blocked it to get those changes they wanted) .. So I mean, there's a difference. Gaining back the majority by running on a "stand up and speak out about Republican bullshit" platform will help continue the trend, I hope.
