| I Just Can't Understand Censorship Some spoilers below. So I'm watching Legion Of The Dead tonight on the Sci-Fi channel. It starts out with two desert motorcyclists that had fallen into an Ancient Egyptian tomb. They light up and start toking. When they hold the cigarette to their mouths, the channel had blurred it out but you can still see the thick smoke and they didn't blur it out when they passed it between them. LAter, the Egyptian Sorceress Queen comes out of the tomb, completely naked. Yes the actress is completely naked, but the channel blurs that out too so nobody could see and would be offended. So i stop watching it that point. I just don't understand why they did it. I know the reasxon but if they have to censor it why show the movie anyway? You might as well not show the movie if you have to censo so much of it or anyh part of it out. But if they didn't, they'd get thousands of complaints from the over-sensitive idiots who get offended by that kind of stuff. It''s a lose lose situation. It's a simple concept, if you have to censor nany part of it out you might as well not show the movie. I hate censorship to no end regardless of which group that promotes it to avoid being offended. As an adult I should be left alone to my own devices to see if I find something objectionable. Preventing people from watching it just because "you" (I mean you in the general sense)think it should be censored is extremely selfish because not everybody agrees on what should be censored and what is objectionable. But here's a hint: "you" do not have the right to not be offended. Just because "you" don't want to see it doesn't mean I might not want to see it. Quick making decisions for everybody else and let people decide on their own. This weay of thinking is incredibly selfish, to say the least. | ||||

| I totally agree. And I hate it even more when they use the excuse of "What about the children?" Leave the parenting to me....I'll decide what I do or do not want my kid to see. | ||||

| If the rating systems are good enough for movies and games, then they should be good enough for TV content as well. Everyone knows what's in the content before they watch, including the sponsors. Therefore, those who sponsored movies with nudity/drugs or whatever know perfectly well what it is they're sponsoring. Honestly, I think this is a downfall of ad-sponsored entertainment. I pay a hefty monthly fee for cable and not only do I still have to deal with advertising, but I have to deal with censorship that's supposed to protect their profits from the weak-minded religious whackos who can't handle a little nature every now and then. In my opinion, those types should take their own conservative advice and censor themselves instead of expecting business/gov't to do it for them. Even by title alone, it's not hard to tell which movies have adult themes and which don't. ..and if you don't want your kids watching either, then use that V-chip. | ||||

| The nudity is the best part about that shitty movie. If you turned it off then you missed the part when the college girl just so happens to speak an Egyptian language that has been dead for over a thousand years. | ||||
