I've never heard anything about vets not liking him? Do you have some links or something I could read on this?

Seems like a lone crusader who is still distraught over his loss

I don't buy into his claims that he's a tratior or conspirator. Do you really think there's some larger movement than this guy and maybe a few others who are bitter for some reason?

Have you ever talked to those people you know to find out why they dislike him?

I don't know how else to say this.......

1. there are a significant number of vets who don't like him, and
2. I don't know why.

It's not a loan crusader.

Ask a vet. I'm going to visit my dad in a few weeks. I'll ask him again exactly why vets don't like McCain.

It'd be suprising to me too.. I would think vets would want other vets being the Commander in Chief.

Can you detail the ones you (or you think they) have a problem with specifically?

This!

I keep hearing this but nobody explains it.

I would have assumed he'd be a god among vets for refusing to leave.......please, explain. What did he do when he got back that was bad enough to burn all that good will?

And a key purveyor of this anti-Kerry propaganda is a former Green Beret named Ted Sampley, who has run a profitable business as a "POW/MIA advocate" from his home in North Carolina for most of the past two decades. Few remember that Sampley was critical to efforts to similarly smear Sen. John McCain, another war hero, when he ran for president against George W. Bush in 2000.

Oh yeah, the whole "John McCain has an illegitimate nigger baby" smear campaign was a nice one, too.

That was nice to see from the campaign that promised to "bring integrity back to the White House".

Edit to add: Sorry, I got sidetracked with all the 'vets don't like McCain' talk.

My comment about the original topic: Good for him? I really don't care if his son joined the Marines or not... or if people think it will "help" McCain win some election. Being military doesn't always mean a sure win by election. Remember Bob Dole? *nods* Yuppers.
