I never said there wasn't rhetoric. I said it has steadily been getting worse over the years. Is it because of more media coverage? Maybe...but everything that everyone says is now out there and in full view of the entire country. And now, more than ever, they are (politicians) sniping at each other and in public.

Just so you know. the rhetoric hasn't gotten worse. Our access to information has increased exponentially since even the 80's so suddenly it seems like everyone is all upset. We've always been like this. We simply didn't know because we didn't have blogs, facebook, twitter, 24hour news stations and talk radio.

I'm still trying to figure out what any of this has to do with the murders in Arizona. Besides the left trying to link them.

The rhetoric is directly correlated. Because of the rancor that is out there, CERTAIN ENTITIES (not the entire left) placed blame at the doorstep of the right before all the facts were known.

BTW, I have seen plenty of places where the right tries to link the shootings to the left...happened on this forum...happened on Hannity.

Why? How was it relevant? It was just an excuse for haters to hate. Shame they had to use this tragedy to hate on Republicans rather than address the issue..

When the incident happened it could just have easily been assumed it was an illegal immigrant who pulled the trigger because of the geographic location, crime trends in the region and her political views. But for some reason the haters had to assume it was a conservative issue. Imagine if the entire media started harping on illegal immigration in response to this, then when proven to have no correlation everyone continued to rant on and on about illegal immigration in response to this shooting. You would think everyone was retarded. That's exactly how we feel.

It also doesn't make sense. Look at the past few years of history. It hasn't been the Tea Partiers or the Eagles or conservatives who have been engaging in political violence or illegal activity in the name of a political movement. We saw Corrado assault a group of senior citizens at a rally, we had numerous instances of union thugs assaulting conservatives at political events, we had black panthers engaging in intimidation at the polls, we had dozens of liberals getting arrested at events where not a single Tea Partier was. And somehow we are all to believe that conservative rhetoric is what is dangerous in America...

And nobody thinks the right is the only side doing it. In MY OPINION...the right is more culpable...especially since Obama came around. And in MY OPINION, since the 80s, things have progressively gotten worse. And they all are related because the fact of the matter is, the first thing people did was try to assign blame to the left or right for it. Not immigrants or drug traffickers.
