I think this forum is great. It's taking us out of the "OT" concept and we're all able to start from scratch and get to know each other on a more personal level before the partisan bickering starts. Should make for a more understanding forum and a much better political debate.

that's what i didn't like about DIAC. someone tries to argue something passionately, and many times they are met with someone calling them an idiot for thinking the way they do.

People get worked up sometimes because they're passionate. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I'm glad people are passionate about things, but the name calling is why we need mods. I hope no one gets so bad that they have to be perma'd from here, but some people just cannot deal calmly with opposing opinions

that's what im saying. being passionate about the subject is what creates good debate. but name-calling and stupid shit like that just takes the fun out of it.

There's gonna be a transition period, especially since the forums aren't completely "done" and still look kind of rough, but we'll get there
