Just tell me where they got that form. Give me a link. Prove to me it came from the Steele campaign and these were widely spread. How hard is that????

Pretty hard considering I don't live in Maryland and it's really cheap to print out a flimsy sign

But this is from the major newspaper in Baltimore:

baltimoresun.com - 'Steele Democrat' sign

At Steele Rally, All Is Not Quite What It Appears - washingtonpost.com

more^^^

If that isn't enough for you...

It seems that sign was made by the "Democrats for Steele" workers. they also made bumper stickers. It looks like a lot of Democrats are thinking he's a better candidate than the Dem that is running.

So anyway, instead of changing the subject, let's focus on that Photoshop ballot you posted from DK. Where did DK download it from? How did they get it?

They got it from a voter in MD who got it as a flier, he sent it in, i could go find the poster, but it doesn't matter because it could be a democratic conspiracy i suppose

"changing the subject" yeah steele trying to fool voters into thinking he's a democrat thats fine, and dont tell me you buy his BS excuse about it

these are dirty tricks that are or should be illegal (i dont know MD law)

It doesn't look like a flyer. That is not scanned.

Democrats for Steele made the sign. Not the Steele campaign itself.

I give these stories credence based on anecdotal evidence, my cousin called me from Illinois and said she got 10+ phone calls from a recorded message about the Dem candidate, and basically what that did was anything anyone calls her about politics, be a friendly Democratic live-phonebanker trying to check on likely democrats, she hangs up...i am sure many others, about to be courted by the Dem GOTV are hanging up all their phone calls on the first sentence because the GOP are jamming their phone lines

Yeah I know, the source, but it's not like a MSM is going to write about this until 2 weeks after the election to see "if it was really widespread or not"
They ran this story on the news here last night.

People are calling with "information about Tammy Duckworth". They call multiple times a night and you have to listen to the whole message before they say it's a message from the Republican party.

I love that people have dropped you bad rep for even making a thread about this and saying this is questionable when it's really happening.

People can't hang up? Did they electrify the lines so the phone is stuck in your hand?

Because I'll tell you what, I hang up on 30 people/day all calling to try to sell me something. This is no different...the GOP is trying to sell you that (a) they're better, and (b) the dems are not.

two simple words............. HANG UP.

Poeple are hanging up, with the idea that Tammy Duckworths people keep calling them multiple times with a pre-recorded message. That's the point. They hang up before they realize it's not Duckworth interrrupting their dinner.

Did you listen to the recording? You have to be a moron or have no idea what the candidate stands for if you listen to what they are saying.

It's exactly the same as they put on radio adds.

Melvin Tucker hates women
Melvin Tucker LOVES illegal aliens
Melvin Tucker wants 98% of your check for taxes
Do the state a favor, don't vote for Melvin Tucker

(paid for by Bradford Snicker for congress)

It's the same stuff.

1. I'd hang up before I even knew it was about tammy duckworth

2. if I wanted to vote for tammy duckworth and somehow figured out the call was about her (despite #1 above) the phone calls wouldn't change my mind and make me not vote for her

3. if I wasn't going to vote for tammy duckworth and somehow figured out the call was about her (despite #1 above) the phone calls wouldn't change my mind and make me want to vote for her

As far as I can see at *worst* the GOP is wasting money.

No it's not. The calls start out with a message like "We are calling about Tammy Duckworth......"That's what people hear when they hang up on the recording.

I'm sorry that everyone isn't you. This has become a big enough problem to run on the local news and have people file complaints.

They ought to yell "SHE TOUCHES LITTLE BOYS!" into the phone before hanging up

Exactly Scrum.. and it's a method of voter suppression. They're targeting people they know are most likely to be in Duckworth's fold in an attempt to annoy them enough to get them not to vote.

People who hang up are immediately called back, and if you don't listen to the message the entire way through, it calls you back.

Democratic campaign offices around the country have been flooded with calls from their own constituents and supporters telling them if they get another call about x candidate, they're not going to vote for x candidate anymore.

It's a pathetic tactic, and it's also against the law. Republicans recently went to jail for something very similar that they did in '04 in an effort to suppress the vote.

You might think it's "wasting money", but it's incredibly effective.. which is why they're spending so much time with it right before the election. For pennies they're able to have this system go around and harass voters they believe will vote for their opponent.

Luckily after the elections are over, regardless of who wins, the Democrats will be going after this to the fullest extent of the law.. I'd be willing to bet we see Republicans find tens of millions of dollars for this, and jail time for some of the more seriously illegal offenses.

I was using the perspective of a reasonable person.

But if the number of complaints = how serious the issue is, I'm going to start complaining to the FCC about all the air time these political ads are taking on TV. I think my TV is becoming nearly unusable because of all the ads and I want them stopped. Sure I could turn off my TV but that would require personal responsibility on my part...I want someone else to take responsibility and get all the ads off all the channels instead.

This has nothing to do with personal responsibility or hanging up, it has to do with voter intimidation (threatening arrest/criminal charges), suppression tactics, and harassment.
