Questions to ask voters at the polls tomorrow?

I'm heading out with a production crew from my radio to talk to people at various polling booths tomorrow. Interesting questions that could be asked?

if police at a polling area would make them not want to vote.
if automated phone calls in any way influenced their decision to vote, and who to vote for.

what are your top 3 reasons for picking the candidate you did? (can be asked and answered without disclosing the candidate)

if recent news that "democrats may take both the house and senate" had an influence on their decision to vote.

if they vote in every election
...if no, why this one?

on that note, read up on the candidates and ask questions based off of them, ie their positions on certain issues and see how correctly the people respond.

when did you decide which candidate you would vote for?

This would be a good poll for a limited number of answers (date ranges) and must be limited to specific races.

Ask them if they felt like they had decent "choices" in candidates to choose from

if you're looking for something a little off the beaten path

-should felons be allowed to vote?
-what do you think will happen if the Dems take house and senate?
-would you consider voting for a 3rd party candidate?
... under what conditions?
-does a candidate's military service (or lack thereof) factor in to your decision?
-does a candidate's race factor in?
-in 2008 would you consider voting for a black president?
-in 2008 would you consider voting for a woman president?
-should candidates be required to attend debates / "town hall" meetings?
-should there limits on the amount of money spent on a campaign?
-should there be limits on how much a person can donate?
-should there be limits on how much of one's own money candidates can spend on the campaign?

Shame you're not in Ohio or another state that is getting new electronic voting booths... you could ask questions about that.

Do you ever vote for a candidate not Republican or Democrat?
Did you vote for a candidate not Republican or Democrat this time? Why or why not?

Do you ever leave an issue or candidate blank on the ballot?

What do you think of Electronic voting machines (whether they're being used at this polling place or not).

What do you think of the method YOU used to place your vote (be it electronic, ScanTron, punch card, etc.)? Is it secure? Is your vote being counted?

How do you feel about your vote being wasted on Republican and Democratic choices when they don't care about their constituents after being voted in?

the interviewer is supposed to ask questions, not make a political statement with a question mark at the end of it

if they are using electrionic voting:

ask if they trust the machines
if they would prefer to cast votes by hand
if not, would they like a paper trail
if any recent scandals in the voting machines make them weary about the voting process

Even if they arent, you could still ask them how they feel about it.

I like Hsmith's questions...

Maybe some sort of combo like Leno's jay walking..."how many supreme court justices are there?" "who is the secretary of defense?" "Do you think Iraq/saddam had a roll in 9/11?" "how many senators are there?"

crap like that...maybe to test how informed the voter really is.
