I'm thinking of writing a book

with the title being something like Christian Anarchism.

I plan on writing on several different topics within the book.

Socialism vs. Capitalism - which is God's economy?

Totalitarianism vs. Anarchy

Does voting matter?

Christian social issues (drugs, porn, sex, welfare, poor, etc)

Founding Fathers opinions

Separation of Church and State?

Death Penalty Issues

Anti-War

Jesus and Paul were free market anarcho-capitalists

God's ideal government is in the book of Judges

All governments are evil

Only God's Government is pure

Immigration

Jesus never once petitioned the government to create or change a law

I plan on using a variety of sources to write my book. It's not going to be an anarchist book per say, but rather just about a Biblical outlook upon the American political system - what it is now, and what it was intended to be. And what Christians should desire it to be.

I'm not sure how to get started.

I've always wanted to write a book.

The best way to get started is just to start. Editing is where you clean things up, once you have a 'skeletal structure' as I like to call it.

One thing that's always kept me from writing a book...why would people want to hear what I have to say? Nobody knows who I am yet, I don't see them wanting to read my opinion.

I feel the same way. Without renound, it could take years before anyone reads your book... and those years would have to be filled with either more writing (which would bring renound) or you getting famous somehow.

But it would be cool to write a book

Yeah... and how many people do you think write books?

A single book, I'm sure, can gain you renound. That just doesn't happen very often. Hell, getting it published alone can cost you money out of your own pocket, and then you may not even get advertised or sold everywhere. Being associated with something like the NYT can be the extra push you need... or getting a publisher on board before you write your first word.

Maybe try hammering down your ideas in outline format, then sending it, with a little background about yourself, to various publishers to see if they think it'll go anywhere. You can always just write the book and have it sitting on yoru computer I guess... it just depends on what you want out of it I think. Probably the best books are written for the authors own enjoyment anyway.

Sounds like it'd be an interesting book man

I think you should write it.. and I agree with the other people here, if you want to write something, the best way is just to get started on it.

My book:

Title: The Silent Revolution

about: A silent political revolution is in the works in this country. Both political parties have drifted so far from their bases. The history of the Democrat and Republican parties, how they have shifted, and how neither represent the people that have voted them into power. There is a political revolution that is quietly creeping into the voters in this country, and I believe it will come to fruition in the form of a third party.

I thought that would be cool but I'd probably be better equipped to write about the politics of the scientific world.

Why not just make a website and use that to publish your writings?

I actually wanted to write a synidcated column, each week choosing several drugs (all similar) and analyzing what's in them, what makes them different, the costs, etc.

For example, the latest commercials are all about sleep aids. What's the difference between ambien, tylenol PM, lunesta, and ambien CR? What works best? What are the costs? Are they really addictive or not? How do they really work? What are the side-effects?

That kind of stuff. I think the senior citizens would eat it up. But my girlfriend thinks I should go straight to TV, and forget about writing a column or the internet.
