Just one more example of shoddy programming and design on these voting machines.

| Why are we paying millions of dollars for machines that do not function properly and are poorly designed? The machine that didn't do it's job probbaly cost a few thousand dollars and we still had to use a paper ballot? | ||||

| Every voting machine is subject to failure. Every voting machine should have a backup plan. This plan worked. Exactly what is the problem? | ||||

| You have no problem spending millions of dollars on machines that don't work properly? I guess you are OK with mediocrity in our voting system. Thats fine, but I am not OK with it. | ||||

| In the long run computer voting *should* be better, faster, more secure, and less prone to tampering. That's what I'm OK with. Find me any system that worked flawlessly the first few times it was used. | ||||

| So are those machines still a problem now that the Democrats won? I've not heard any complaints about them. | ||||

But to your point, yes I still think electronic voting machines need alot of improvement. There were many instances of confusion, problems, machines not working, etc. That should be avoided at all costs.

we need a total investigation, i will be sorely disappointed if we don't have some sort of evaluation by the Dem House and Dem Senate of the electronic machines, and after that, a retest, then changes, etc and hopefully they can be a lot more secure and reliable by 2008

| I have no idea why Cuyahoga County always fumbles up their elections. The machines are very simple to use, both from a voter perspective and a poll worker perspective (I worked the polls yesterday in my home town). Well, I actually do understand it. Cuyahoga County is one of the most beaurocratic, corrupt, worthless counties in the country, and I'm sure their poll workers are pretty much morons. That's the only thing I can think of. | ||||

the problem in Cuyahoga County is that the whole board of elections there is completely inept, their training sucks, and then they fuck up every election the state might have to take over their elections just like they did their schools
