| A thread on Lamont's loss is fine, and while I don't particularly care for it being directed at a specific member, I don't have a problem intent like I would with bumping every single thread on the subject. Congrats to Lieberman, but I agree with Thorgrim the break Lamont took after winning the primary is what did him in.. he lost focus, and wasn't able to make it about Iraq like in the rest of the nation. | ||||

| I hope Lieberman adopts the old strategy of: I'm going to prove Lamont-supporters to have been foolish because they were wrong to oppose me in the first place If he does, he'll turn left or stay left on a lot of issues, we already know he's staying put as a Senator and promised to caucus with the Dems, Harry Reid make backroom deals that hurt Lamont but made sure Lieberman would stay with the Democrats | ||||

Unfortunately for the ultra-left... Lamont is not what CT wanted as much as they all were screaming it was so.

If it was Russ Feingold up there running against him (assuming Russ lived in CT) Russ would have cleaned Joe's clock

Officially the Senate is 49 Dems, 49 Rep and 2 Independents. Which means both parties will share power in the Senate. Wouldnt doubt one or both independents switch though.

| you have to watch how you phrase things, your post is ambigious about what you mean by "switching"...and since Sanders was backed as the Dem candidate despite declining to give up his Ind status, "switching" would mean he would consider caucusing with the GOP | ||||
