| Libertarian-conservatives like him need to take the republican party back from the borrow-and-spend neocons running the show now. | ||||

| I said he was in trouble, if you looked at my house forecasting thread you'd see he wasn't even on the 3rd/4th tier list, things changed I didn't feel the need to make a big post saying "rumors i suggested might have a chance later no longer seem probable" after losing in TX-22, at least libertarians have a quasi-victory in keeping Ron Paul as someone who shuns the libertarian party label, and now he can bask in minority status | ||||

Maybe you think the big L's want a lot of political power (like the dems and reps), and perhaps they do... but any little L isn't about that. Any method that succeeds in reducing federal power a A-OK in my book. | ||||

| I think they want some voices (plural) in Congress I can't imagine any Libertarian on this board saying it wouldn't be a huge goal to gain seats in Congress to change the way the US government works from the inside, rather than just making newsgroup posts Anyway, TX-22, an ultra-conservative district, had a DEMOCRAT that was brand new and unknown how he'd really vote, and then a Libertarian, and thats basically it...you had to write in for a republican with a hyphen that people didn't even know that well EXCELLENT shot for the Libertarians, they should have won that race by 20pts The Libertarian, 2nd on the ballot, got 6% of the vote, Lampson (D) got well over 50% of the vote Sad, if thats the best the liberarians can do, looks like another 10 years of political irrelevancy in Congress | ||||
