For some reason, the President signed the wrong date on the guest log at Westminster Abbey while visiting in London today. And not the day, mind you: the year.

Dan Amira notes President Obama signed the guestbook at Westminster Abbey earlier today and dated it 24 May 2008.

"Granted, 2008 was a great year for him, and we might try to live it for as long as possible, too, if we were him."

A Westminster Abbey spokeswoman confirmed to the London Telegraph it was in fact the president who had written the wrong date.

Personally, I blame the Irish. Apparently, Obama can't handle his Guinness.

I'm not a devoutly religious man, but evil is defined by actions in my opinion. A plant, in and of itself, can not be evil. Rather it is what one does with the plant which may become evil. One is what one repeatedly does. If you do evil things, you become evil.

If I were a religious person I would probably say something like "anything which is against gods will is evil". Even with this definition I am not sure how a plant can be evil. God gave us dominion over the plants and animals to use as we see fit. If tobacco and alcohol are not evil ( Jesus turned water into wine after all). I struggle to imagine how partaking of the plants that god has given us is evil in any way.

God intended for us to get high. If he did not he would not have created the plant OR would have made THC content irrelevent.

I was just trying to show via gross hyperbole how asinine Gipper's post was. While I generally agree with your statement, though, I must disagree with one point: I think generally that certain items, objects, plants, etc., can be evil in and of itself in some circumstances. Plants that are poisonous and that kill those living things that consume or come into innocent contact with them I think are evil, or at least not good.

Ah, not entirely true though, gentlemen. God created the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, but forbade Adam and Eve from consuming its fruit. Clearly, God did not intend for man to use that plant for our own devices. Still, God did not mention anything about the cannabis plant, so I suppose that is fair game. Still, the point is that perhaps we are not supposed to consume and reign dominion over all things God created. That being said, the last person I would listen to regarding what the word of God is would be Gip. Can I get an amen?

the tree of knowledge was a metaphor. God didn't really mean that apples are evil. Personally I think most of the old testament is crap. The God of the old testament is not the same as the god of the new testament. one is vengeful and violent and the other is benevolent and giving. Not sure how people who believe in both reconcile that.

I don't think poisonous plants are evil either. They have developed poison as a defense mechanism so that they are not killed by animals who would eat them. NO different than a bears claws. Every day in nature, animals eat other animals and plants. That's not evil. That is nature. That is "God's design" and therefore it's not evil.

Gipper sure is a bad conservative if I can out religious him. Marijuana is not evil. Religous people take exception to it because of the hedonistic behavior that they believe accompanies drug use.
