| You mentioned amnesty, which I said it wasn't about in my very first reply. I said in my first reply that immigration may need to be slowed at times. That is very much NOT amnesty.

I think you'll have to be a bit more specific. Immigrants may no longer come across in boats, but immigrants still have to get registered. It's that process (and us not allowing enough immigration through that process) that is causing the current problem with illegal immigration. It's virtually no work for someone to go sign a piece of paper, get their fingerprints taken (which is something I think is a good idea with immigrants), and get a card to prove that they are a registered immigrant and allowed to work in the US. So, again, what's so different?

| Sure it's good, if you're well enough off to benefit from the stock market, or if you're rolling in $$$ and don't like paying for a war that you probably support with your fair share of taxes. If you're working for peanuts, you'll be glad to see the minimum wage finally being raised . It's long overdue for that to happen. Also for tax loopholes to be closed for oil companies and war profiteers. Also for polluters to be held accountable for poisoning the air and water. | ||||

Everything points to us being able to increase our economy even more than it is, and one part of that includes allowing immigration (moreso than we do).
Just because we've been restricting immigration for the past 90 years doesn't make it right or good for the economy. As a matter of fact, federal involvement into the economy is RARELY good for it (you should know that as a conservative).
