The site has been down off and on for the past 3 or 4 days as far as I could tell. Try to get on and you get a message about a database error. It was happening as recently as this morning around 6:30-7AM.

It's almost certainly a problem with the server. JJ is aware of this.

If you have any problems, you are more than welcome to visit my forum, ai-Jane.org. I'm not attempting to 'steal' your loyalty, but Jane is almost the same size, as LibertyLounge. Since upgrading the software, I have culled all zero posters and long gone members, so the member count is less as a result. But we have slightly more traffic.

I would love to have "Donkey" grace our site. We always need entertainment, and I will make a special position for him. Unfortunately our official "Heyoka/Contrary/fool" is already taken. Perhaps "Resident Comedian"? We will even give him special flexibility to insult the kooky members.

Of course, eveyone needs a second site, just in case the primary one goes on the fritz.

This has been going on for about two weeks, to be exact. It's off and on, and the administrator, who handles the account, needs to think about moving to another host provider if it continues. But it has to be the one who has host provider access to the Control Panel.

Of course you can join. Believe it or not, we are very tolerant over there. Even JJ is a member. We even have no real censorship restrictions either. However, throwing around four letter A-S words just to be Firing for Effect(FFE), is frowned upon, because it is less than mature. But we tolerate far more than most places.

All that is required is that the registered member introduce him/her self, to show he/she is human, and not a spammer. Then the member will be activated.

Again, I am not attempting to recruit members away from here, like that other person did last month. If you want to go there, fine. Just don't forget where you came from. In fact, I would love to have Donkey join. He would provide much entertainment to us. And too, it stimulates traffic. And as an owner, traffic is king.

On a serious note, it is still getting hung up. This morning I couldn't even get any response from the site, not eve a Database Error. Nothing at all would come up.

This is why it is so important for more than one administrator have access to the Control Panel, and the account. That way the forum can be moved if necessary. Apparently only one person does, and he is nowhere to be seen.

It really is a big deal, especially if you are a responsible owner of any forum. You are not looking at this from the position of responsibility. If the site is only periodically available, members will tend to become frustrated and take their business elsewhere.

And the important thing about forums is traffic among members. If members are not posting, then the forum is not moving forward. Why don't you run out and start up a forum, and see if your attitude does not change.

Well, perhaps I should rephrase that. "Your attitude May change.
