| Cheney is elected by the voters, he's not going anywhere unless he decides to or he decides to acquiesce to the President's request to step down. I think he's been marginalized though, and it's really the people who've been given Rumsfeld's head, because if there's one thing a majority of true conservatives and Democrats agree on, it's that Rumsfeld is completely incompetent and needed to be replaced by someone with a different perspective and method for making progress in Iraq.. his policies obviously weren't working, and I think the Military Times article was probably the second to last nail in his coffin.. I think had the Democrats not won the majority, he'd probably still be there for awhile.. but eventually replaced a few months down the road when it didn't look like a direct result of the election.. | ||||

| get rumsfeld uder the spotlight, use the evidence to get cheney, ..., or any of the pnac crew they must explain the what & why they've done so that any future course of action can be committed to by an informed public & i speak as a non-democrat incidently i'm sitting next to a Pole who supports the PNAC position & says that the war was justified coz Saddam was a destabilising threat. Further he accepts the need to lie to the public coz they are too stupid to understand anything but the most simple of arguements. He also, to a limited extent, accepts my criticism that the lying & misrepresenting the nature of the conflict has undercut public support for it & thus doomed it to failure If the general public just accept what the TV tells them then why didnt PNAC just tell the truth & say this is going to be a long-term effort? Coz the public have already been told that war is a bad thing is his reply My own view is that denying control of the oil to others to prevent them using it as a geo-political weapon is easily understood by virtually everyone , ..., you just needed to persuade them that the invasion was the right way to achieve it | ||||

I think Cheney, when he does resign, will probably be succeeded with a moderate like Guliani. That sets them up for '08. Of course, I'm probably giving Bush too much credit for being smart enough to think of that....It'll probably be his "PA'S" idea.

There are probably 15 people in government in highly ranked positions who were part of this club. If you think they are not going to use their "think tank" ideas now that they are in power, you should probably take a look around. Iraq being one of the main steps in carrying out their idea of foreign policy. | ||||
