I hear this all the time about her and Dean. Lets hear it. The people who are far left are people like Sanders and Nader. Nobody in the Democratic party is far left.

| He won because he had bipartisan support in the population. I respect him for being able to win without party support like that. However, I dont agree with much of his policy, nor his open willingness to bring religion into politics. He's too far left on some things like media censorship (for the children), and too far right on others (iraq war/israel). | ||||

| Socialist medicare would never pass, regardless of what she thinks. Illegals already have access to our healthcare, education system, etc. | ||||

| It would never pass, because it's an extreme nutjob position for a politician to take. And illegals have access, but Clinton did a good job of cutting most of it off. She's against that! | ||||

Plenty of people want those other things. That doesn't make them wackjobs. She is representing her district and none of those things will pass on a federal level. I still don't see anything like her wanting to break up corperations or move to a socialist system in there. Anything else?

The far left does not have America's best interest at heart. In fact they have the opposite desire. As more Republicans cave in thus revealing the cowards they are we will see more leftist driven ideas being considered in Congress. DosEquis, I wish I had your faith in the , keeping the left people in check part. I really do...

instead I get thinly veiled insults and talked down to. How sweet. Around here we like to post evidence to back up our claims. Last edited by Scrum; 11-09-2006 at 02:07 AM..

The administration/congress has failed the faith based community by not doing a whole lot about the abortion issue. The administration has failed the conservative community by allowing out of control spending, enormous government growth, not addressing the border/immigration issue, and not really addressing other reform. Their handling of Iraq has been questionable at best. The point is I can't really think of much they did right even for conservatives, yet some STILL voted for more of the same just to avoid "speaker pelosi". Rush Limbaugh has admitted to exactly that, and Hannity said the same thing in not so many words. I think if Pelosi starts getting wacky it will result in a sway back. Democrats know they are on thin ice, they made promises, and people are going to want to see some results or they will be out on their ass. Results do not start with national healthcare systems.

| Further I highly doubt they will do so much "anti-business" "left" legislation to cause a bunch of economic problems. Every elected official republican and democrat are millionaires who rely heavily on the market for their bankroll. Their jobs only pay like 150k a year, not including all the bribes to their favorite "charity" of course. So passing legislation that puts a cut to economic performance would just be cutting their own throat. Not only that but historically speaking, when a democrat has been president the market has seen 15% growth over their terms, where as republicans have seen 9.5% growth over their terms. So i guess i trust the checks and balances of the government, the voters, and the market has been historically just fine under a democratic controlled goverment. I think we will be fine. I like that the opposite party controls the legislative branch because we need those checks and balances. We desperately needed to get rid of the rubber stamp. | ||||

Considering everything, they should have won 10-12 senate seats and hold a 80-100 member majority in congress. They dont though, because most of them suck.
