Considering everything, they should have won 10-12 senate seats and hold a 80-100 member majority in congress. They dont though, because most of them suck.
True if thier declared mandate against Iraq war was as strong with the people as they declare they should have won many more seats.
The people voted and will get that which they asked for.
Even a little of what the Democratic leadership wants to bring could be dangerous...

I hear this all the time about her and Dean. Lets hear it.

The people who are far left are people like Sanders and Nader.

Nobody in the Democratic party is far left.

I don't consider Nader far left. I like him on a lot of his issues.

While we're on "far" terminologies, there is no one "far right" in the Republican party either except for Ron Paul. And that's only if your scale is far left = socialism and far right = anarchy.

blah, let's just get rid of "left" and "right." It's too confusing.

The administration has failed the conservative community by allowing out of control spending, enormous government growth, not addressing the border/immigration issue, and not really addressing other reform. Their handling of Iraq has been questionable at best.

The point is I can't really think of much they did right even for conservatives, yet some STILL voted for more of the same just to avoid "speaker pelosi". Rush Limbaugh has admitted to exactly that, and Hannity said the same thing in not so many words. I think if Pelosi starts getting wacky it will result in a sway back. Democrats know they are on thin ice, they made promises, and people are going to want to see some results or they will be out on their ass. Results do not start with national healthcare systems.

Some of the reasons why I left the Republican party.

So did Hannity snap, or did he disappoint so many of you here?

I will not argue a most obvious fact with you.
Nor will I banter such well known facts.

Besides I didnt think they were "thinly veiled" at all.-lol

I gave you my departed grandfather's quote, what else do you want?
How about one little link to these "well known facts?" Shouldn't be too hard now, should it?

No one has taken up Scrum's challenge. I find that telling.

Everyone is put on notice. We're no longer going to be convinced of slams against Democrats backed up by saying "it's common knowledge." That doesn't cut it anymore.

The Democrats do not play to a far left base. They try so hard to be Republican Lite. In 2004 there was widespread dissatisfaction with the war, yet the party gave us two candidates that voted FOR the war. WTF? The front runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008? Yep, you guessed it, she voted for the war too.

What's Howard Dean's rating from the NRA? Betcha can't guess, but it shows that he's not as far left as you might think he is.

I'll give you the easiest one; she tried to ban all guns in San Francisco. Fortunately the courts saw right through that one.

And Dean was endorsed by the NRA 8 times as the VT Governor.

Did she try, or was it the nearly 60% of the people that voted for it?

And so now people who don't like guns are far left nutjobs? That's all it takes huh?

How about her very socialist statement 'we need to share the wealth; we need to reward people for working hard, not being wealthy'

Her rating is an F.

Or how about her desire for government-run healthcare?

There are many, but do you really want to hear how socialist her views are? Is socialist not a far left stance?

I've kept up quite well; I noticed somehow the subject was changed from Pelosi to Dean. Quite irrelevant if you ask me.

I wonder why?

I can really care less what she says. It's action that is telling.

That quote is a little out of context though and you're reading into it what you want to hear.

As I have already pointed out, national healthcare has support from the majority of people in this country.

I guess they are all liberal nutjobs though!

He asked a question and I answered it. That's not changing the subject at all. In fact I had refered to Dean earlier in the thread.

How else will you know her beliefs? Unless you also think she lies a lot?

Here's her quote exactly

"We believe in the marketplace," Pelosi said of Democrats, then drew a contrast with Republicans. "They have only rewarded wealth, not work."

"We must share the benefits of our wealth" beyond the privileged few, she added.
I don't know how much the context can be changed on that

It's a very liberal and socialist policy, whether people agree with it or not. Because people like it doesn't change it's 'leftist-ness'

Because you are reading "I will come in and take money out of rich peoples pockets to give it to the poor".

When what she is saying is 'The system currently in place makes the rich richer and keeps the poor, poor. We need to eliminate that framework".
