| FTC VS Skechers Shape-Ups. Settlement: $40 per pair purchased. I think Motivez bought a few pairs of these. Skechers Refunds Did you buy Skechers Shape-ups, Resistance Runner, Toners, or Tone-ups shoes? You may be eligible for a refund. The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, charged Skechers with making unfounded claims that its Shape-ups and other "toning shoes" would help people lose weight and tone their buttocks, legs, and abdominal muscles. To settle the case, Skechers USA has agreed to pay $40 million to provide refunds to people who bought Skechers toning shoes. More information is available on the FTC’s Skechers Hotline at 866-325-4186.

| I bought a pair, but because they are really comfortable. It's like walking on sand. They are heavy shoes though.

| I heard something about only needing proof of purchase if claiming over $200. I filled out the form for my wife's pair ($40), and it asked for proof of purchase. If proof of purchase is not required, this may become an example of how people will exploit the crap out of any system. Possibly the $40 will be depleted to $4 because so many people exploit the scenario. I feel that an incredible amount of people will commit fraud and exploit this deal if proof of purchase isn't required. I doubt they validate any proof of purchase. There's still plenty of room for fraud such as sharing receipts with others or creating fake receipts. IMO, much more people will commit fraud if no proof of purchase is required. | ||||

| Nah, because just as many who bought the shoes will never hear about this or won't care. I wont' be claiming because, as I said, I bought them because they were comfortable, not because I actually expected a workout. | ||||
