Sean Hannity and Walmart today were defiant of the enemies of christmas by declaring "MERRY CHRISTMAS" instead of happy holidays. Ladies and gentlemen, the War on christmas is OVER.

as an atheist, the "merry christmas / "happy holidays" is the DUMBEST fuckin argument in human history. who gives a shit what we call it, its still going to be the same holiday regardless of what we argue over. so all of you christians out there, call it whatever you want. all you atheist that actually give a shit, get the stick out of your ass and worry about more important shit!

seriously! its not like i have ever been to church on christmas. to me, its all about family, good food, and gifts. all the religious crap is for the people that actually buy into all the boring shit.

I can say that I go to church for weddings and funerals. I dont really belong to any church. I do "celebrate" christmas with the family though. So whatever that means.

At it again I see.

This happy holidays vs. merry christmas campaign has got to be the greatest conservative misdirection campaign I've ever seen in my life. Out of no where last year you started seeing across fox news titles of "WAR on Christmas". The GOP organizes a multi-million dollar campaign that actually convinces Americans there is some crazy conspiracy against the use of the word christmas and companies that are saying happy holidays are following the slippery slope of PC. Toss some accusations the way of ACLU and bam, everyone is a patriotic christian american again.

Got to hand it to them those sneaky bastards know how to run a campaign.

I actually had a secretary last year when all this crap was going on tell me happy holidays. Then with a triumphant twinkle in her eye say, "No wait, I mean merry christmas". I threw her out a window into traffic.....

the only people who ever had a problem with it were christians. there never existed an 'atheistic movement' to change merry christmas to happy holidays. walmart and other companies changed it to appeal to a larger demographic, and the christians got upset.

The reasons that were going around the country were pure political correctness. There was no reason for it, and even non-Christians realized this.

The fact remains that there was never any significant movement to remove the word "Christmas" (when private businesses use it, anyway). Any removal of the word was simply a voluntary attempt to appeal to a larger demographic and therefore make more profit. Hence, the term "war on Christmas" is asinine because there was never anyone attacking it. It's more like the "the quest for profit in a pluralistic society." You like profit, don't you?

Have you been to a Walmart lately? It's like the fucking United Nations. I've never seen so many different people and languages spoken in one place.

If there's anything ridiculous and politically correct here, it's Christians demanding everyone conform to their religious traditions or they'll bitch until your ears bleed.
