WASHINGTON - President Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper talked by phone Monday about two upcoming international meetings they both will attend, a White House spokesman said. The two leaders talked ahead of a summit of Asian and Pacific nations next week in Vietnam, and a NATO summit later this month in Latvia, said spokesman Gordon Johndroe. Bush and Harper also talked about the Middle East, "collaboration in the Western Hemisphere and issues related to border security," said Johndroe.
