Me neither. From what I can find he supports people needing a license to own a weapon. I might be ok with that. As long as it's one license per person and not per weapon.

He'll appeal to liberals because of his stance on those issues.

1) the gun issue will not get any traction from a republican candidate, so dont worry about it
2) I'm ok with Roe V Wade, not these ridiculously lose interpretations of it, but the important thing is that he's not for making that problem worse.
3) Fiscally he's damn near perfect in my book. He'll make sure the military is adaquately funded, he'll make sure social programs are reformed but not killed, he'll lower taxes, cut federal spending and maybe, just maybe, because of his moderate stance on a lot of issues be able to get permanent tax reform through the house and senate

Because "leftism" (or "rightism") is a key poltical value.
And "abortion" is such a major political issue.

Nevermind that taxes are going up, our government is almost irreversably corrupt, our spending is going up, social security is doomed, etc. when there's a possibility that women might (or might not) get abortions and gays might (or might not) get married.

Thats my point, right now there's more pressing issues and wasting resources to stop gays from getting married is just flat ridiculous.

That type of polarization is what's so damaging to this country.

Why? Bush was one; we should learn from our mistakes.

If someone is going to run as conservative (ie Republican) then they damn better be conservative.

Because he agrees more with republicans? Because much of what stands for is part of the republican agenda, or at least used to be? Why can't we have a diverse party? It's been made obvious that the democrats do not want a diverse party, I for one welcome it even if I dont agree with the guy 100%.
