All the major news outlets have an agenda and a political slant. Fox News is no different. When they start photoshoping images, airing terrorist propaganda and making up news stories is when you have to worry.

Yeah lets ban all images from Lebanon until we have a dozens of people scouring the thousands of pictures until we know for sure none of them recieved even the tiniest change

Also, lets so censor our broadcasts about Iraq that we have to go to Al-Jazeera to get the other half of the news, infact lets pull the plug entirely on any american deaths in Iraq and replay a history channel special on the flags of iwo jima 24/7

And ofcourse, lets have the drudgereport as our only source of breaking news, no matter how libelous, all non-conservative outlets must vet their stories 100x over the course of a month, and if they mess up one story lets ban them from ever reporting again

CNN
4-11, prime time slot=

3 hours of straight news from the Situation Room
1 hour Anderson Cooper reporting
1 Larry King interviews
1 entertainment news
1 hour of opinion (Lou Dobbs)

Fox
4-11

Neil Cavuto Opinion, Pro-fiscal conservative
John Gibson Opinion, Anti-Democrat, anti-liberal
Brit Hume with "all star panel" of 3 conservatives, some news mixed in at the beginning
Shepard Smith the one actual news hour on Fox
O'Reilly Opinion, anti-progressive
Hannity and Colmes, dominated by Hannity, hardcore Bush parrot
Greta, legal and entertainment news
O'Reilly again! more anti-progressive opinion

So....in the prime time lineup from when everyone gets home to when they go to bed:
One hour of opinion on CNN, 5-6 hours of news
One, maybe 1.5 hours of news on Fox, about 5-6 hours of opinion

Gee, where or where should I go for actual news

THat is because of your own political leanings. If you were a true centrist, you would see them both equally distant on their respective sides of the scale.

Why don't they just hire good editorial people and let them editorialize however they want?
They don't, they direct them to be anti-republican.

Or because you're so far right on the scale, you see CNN as being waaaay left, when it's really only very slightly left of center.

Even if we went on your baseless assumption that Larry King is a big anti-Bush figure, and that's still 3 hours of news compared to about 1 on Fox

I only left that one alone because I've never seen it. I'm sure research would turn up bias but I don't feel like searching for or watching it.

He tosses softball questions to barbara streisand like "so what do you think is happening?" and lets her rant without asking for any supporting material. He's basically TV's version of a web forum, allowing assholes and liberals and asshole liberals to come say whatever they feel and not have to justify or verify a word of it.

Irrelevant. The amount of bais doesn't matter. It's whether or not there *IS* bias.
