What do you tell your SO to get you for xmass?

I'm really stuck this year...i don't want the PS3 (its too early) and I'm already upgrading my PC on my own...so that takes a huge chunk of the dorky stuff out

since we're both in grad school, we make deals to limit how much each other spends, etc

But we like to get SOMETHING, and she seems really stuck and i dont what to hint to her, because really im satisfied right now

They have this, like, 1000 piece tool kit at Costco that I want. I'm missing sockets from some of my sets and over the years more and more things get gone. I'm ready to start over again.

I don't tell my wife what to get me. She doesn't tell me what she wants. Starting in about August or Sept I keep a piece of paper in my wallet and write down stuff she says "I like that." In November I go over the list, and December I pick some stuff.

That way she never knows what she's getting but she always likes what I pick.

While I wasn't kidding about the other stuff (I really did get a 42" plasma and a shitload of chrome) those aren't really her gifts. Her main gift is going to be a table I'm building for about $22. The thought is HUGE, the price very small.

404 Capitalism not found.

I had to say it, the opening was there!

That's cool though. Why the table? Unless it's too personal of a story.

From the other gift thread.......

I'm also making her a gardening table. For the past few years she's been planting veggies and lettuce and herbs in boxes on the ground. She ruptured a disc in her back so gardening hurts now. I'm going to use cedar and make some tables to match the barn so she can work without her back hurting. It's a thoughtful (and basically free) gift that she'll really appreciate.

Christmas / Chanukah gift ideas!

Her ruptured disc really hurts her and a table is going to make gardening fun again. It's going to fit against the barn and be about 22' long and 3' wide and have enough space for her herb and veggie containers without her having to bend to weed and harvest.

Sorry, when he said "capitalism" he meant "spending money to support the economy blahlbhalbhah."
