I 90% believe richards, he came off as 90% genuine...what bothers me is that in his act he never spun it at the end with "oh i was just using that word to piss him off, take it easy folks" as someone else said "the punchline never came" it was just a rant filled with hate, and not just racial but that was in it

However, I do believe 100% of what Seinfeld said, he came off as really believing Richards, and man what a good friend

This is EXACTLY what I was talking about in the other thread, loyalty

Jerry could have distanced himself, outcast Richards...tell the truth that they hadn't worked together for almost 10 years, etc

What did he do, he called him up, got him on Letterman, said he loved the guy, really put himself on the line for him after all this terrible racist stuff

What a great friend, its good to see personal loyalty is still out there

I saw the preview for the show, and seriously, I teared up watching it. Because it seemed so genuine.

He made a verbal boo boo, and how he chose to deal with his mistake was very genuine, and seems very sincere.

Yes ma'am I agree. It was a sincere apology. It wasn't a note handed to a media organization that may or may not have even been written by himself. He showed a lot of character. You can tell he didn't have a script. He just went on there to apologize openly and freely. I doubt he'll go and post an editorial on the frontpage of his website saying his words were right either way. Before the apology I lost respect for him. After the apology I have more respect for the man than before the incident took place.

He did claim to have remorse about his tirade and offered apologies to any and all in whatever verbal form he felt might save his career. I know I won’t be giving him any of my money, but then again I never did. (No I was not a fan of Seinfeld. I felt the show’s comedic timing was terrible.)

Richards claimed to have “rage” and he said that he would like to explain the source of his “rage”. He then tried to associate it with global events and claimed his “rage” is an expression that is carried over into current conflicts of war. I see that as a lame effort on his part, to try and shift some of the burden of being a racist bastard off of himself.

Perhaps you should look "subjugated" up in the dictionary. It doesn't mean treated badly.

Listen to what he says and you'll hear richards talk about how they wouldn't shut up and how they're talking and talking and talking. The video starts at his rant, it doesn't show what led up to it which, having been to a movie in a 'black' city, was probably some ignorant people who didn't know when to shut the fuck up while someone else was talking.

Should he have said nigger? That's really up to him, isn't it? If you don't like that he said it, don't buy his stuff and let him feel it. Should he apologize? That's really up to him, isn't it? If you think he should and he doesn't, don't buy his stuff and let him feel it.

How this video led to a discussion about kerry shows just how far the liberals will go to justify what he said and believes

We both know there is a difference in the reaction. We are pointing out a social flaw. There SHOULDN'T be any difference. And the more we keep letting people have things both ways, the more the flaw will grow.
