Midweek Politics - 11.22.2006 - Michael Savage calls me gay, Kramer, Iraq, 2008, more

This Week on Midweek Politics with David Pakman

Produced by:
David Pakman, WXOJ, Northampton, MA
Louis Motamedi, WXOJ, Northampton, MA

Total Running Time: 57:33

This Week's Topics:

--The 43rd anniversary of the John F. Kennedy assassination.

--Congressman Charlie Rangel wants to reinstate the military draft.

--Henry Kissinger says that a military win in Iraq would be impossible.

--Michael Richards, Seinfeld's Kramer, his racist tirade, explanation on the Late Show with David Letterman, and more commentary.

--OJ Simpson's book deal had it's plug pulled by News Corporation, and when discussing it, racist tendencies came out from the usual suspects in the media.

--Once again, the falsehood that most people earning minimum wage are students and/or part-time employees comes out.

--The election of Bernie Sanders to the Senate has caused some to question Vermont's place in the 50 states.

--Chris Wallace interviews John Kerry, in great part about his "botched joke" shortly before the 2006 midterm election.

--While Senator John McCain contends that more troops are needed in Iraq, not everyone agrees.

--The "homosexual agenda" comes up once again...who was it this time?

News Corp should be referred to as such; News Corporation just confuses and sounds "generic".

If people were sent to wars because "hey we have all these troops" those politicians would be out on their ass immediately.

I think the only negative regarding a draft is the quality of the soldiers. The volunteer army is goin to yield better soldiers. Otherwise i agree with Charlie in a general sense.

As far as pulling troops out, i think it is really a double edged sword. We will have to stay on the region to maintain regional control, but at the same time I think we have won everything we can possibly win. I think we need to be there to make sure a negative influence from Iran is minimized and I think we need to be there to represent our position and keep the anti-american feelings from being worse than they already are. Though I think we should have a good portion of our soldiers out of the line of fire, but we need to stay in the region.

I've wondered about this for awhile. Are there any studies on the subject that demand the label falsehood?
