| ![]() That's too cute that little girl... And 7960, that's funny "JESUS CHRIST!" LOL I think it's funny when kids say stuff like that. I think that those phrases and stuff that are maybe adult, and maybe just mimicking what they have heard adults say, I think it's fine as long as they use it in the right context and understand what they are saying. I wouldn't say anything around my kid(s) that I wouldn't be ok with them saying themselves, and it's important to teach them the difference. | ||||

| My wife and I waited 13 years before our first kid. Sometimes I feel like we waited too long, like when my sons want to play me in soccer. Then other times I think it was just right. Those times come when I see young people that have kids that seem to think their lives are over and have regrets. We don't. We had SOOO much fun and did so many things those years before kids. | ||||

| I'm going to be in for that soon. I'm ok about watching my mouth because i'm used to working around kids but my wife swears like a sailor on shore leave sometimes. My kid is just starting to talk now and I know it's only a matter of time before those words start flying. | ||||

there are a few words that my kid *knows* are words for adults, and when he slips, I don't flip on him, I correct him and tell him a better word... Right now, his thing to say when he gets mad: "I hate people." He says that when he is really mad at me, but is getting around saying "I hate you." So, he just makes it a general remark. So, I just tell him, OK, go hate people in your room, and come out when you are ready to love everyone again. But, he got that from me, because when I watch the news, I tend to say "I hate people."

It's a 2-faced world, and when they're young like that, the best way to keep them doing the right thing is to do the right thing yourself. Once they have an established sense of right and wrong, however, then things change.
