Midweek Politics 11.29.06 - Bill Scher, Michael Richards, paper money discriminates..

This Week on Midweek Politics with David Pakman

Produced by:
David Pakman, WXOJ, Northampton, MA
Louis Motamedi, WXOJ, Northampton, MA

Total Running Time: 60:55
This Week's Topics:

--Bill Scher, author of the book "Wait! Don't Move to Canada!" and Founder of LiberalOasis.com discusses his book and sits in for the hour.

--The continuing Michael Richards situation and his bizarre apology to Jesse Jackson.

--San Diego effectively bans Wal-Mart supercenters.

--A judge rules that paper currency all of the same size discriminates against the blind.

--Is the situation in Iraq a civil war? Various news networks and politicians opine.

--Is supporting one candidate from a different party a sign of being an independent thinker? Is Joe Lieberman an independent thinker for supporting the war in Iraq?

--Barney Frank believes the issues being brought to the forefront by many in the media are no important issues, but simply ways to criticize Democrats.

--Where does the criticism that electing Democrats earlier this month fosters Middle East violence come from?

--You won't be surprised to hear who suggested banning Muslim immigration and the construction of mosques as a solution to the so-called "Muslim problem" in the United States.

I am not so sure the blogs are a great way to spread things around. Whether its television, news papers, magazines, or blogs, it largely depends on the credibility of the person "blogging" or reporting. If general shinseki or general casey "blog" their idea for Iraq, it is going to hold a significant level above "dos equis" ideas for Iraq.

Credible blogs could be a good answer, but just random guys giving their opinion just doesn't seem like it would be affective to me.
