I've played both thePS3 and the Wii and I find that while the PS3 will have more "adult" games, the Wii is simply much more fun to use. So fun in fact, that I expect to see some Wii-like controllers made for both the PS3 and the 360.

I also like the Wii because it let's kids play games while being active (the Wii Sports Pack for example). Bowling, Tennis, Boxing and Golf games with the Wii are TONS of fun, and keep you much more active than sitting on your couch with four buttons, triggers, analogs and a D-pad.

I for one, would get the Wii for my kids (if I had any) and let them play only games that require activity (COD3 is also available for the Wii and is a BLAST).

I might actually get one for myself.
