Is pride a sin?

One of the seven deadly sins, along with greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony and sloth.

Excessive pride in one's own abilities can interefere with the recognition of God's role in giving you your abilities.

It was this sin which brought down Lucifer and led Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. It is the root of all sins.

Pride is all about the "I", and interefers with serving God. For it places the "I" above god. By the "I" I am referring to "me myself and I".

Pride goeth before the fall.
