I wonder if the same people would be posting in here if the ad was hilary clinton and joe lieberman saying "violent/racy video games are bad for our children" followed by a speech given by one of the kids. Liberal though they are, the message is congruent enough with social conservatism to avoid the fiery responses in here thus far. I think the emotional response to this video has less to do with the fact there's a child in it and more to do with it's content. After all, children have been used for emotional/political manipulations for centuries, including the last election, so why no outcry about those ads? Too bad everyone doesn't realize the 'for the children' argument is retarded no matter what it's used to justify.

Well I'd say that my hatespeak was directed toward an individual. The individual that scripted the childs monolgue. Judging from the childs facial expression, agressive body language, angry tone, and adult clothing, I would suggest that the childs parent is doing emotional harm to the child. And to teach the child that a person of faith from any religion is a 'god damned' anything is discriminatory. There is NO good in that presentation. Even the message itself is suggesting oppression of religious expression.

There is some good, and some truth, because that arguement has been used without a child as a prop to make it.

I don't think that that kid is going to suffer harm because she did that video, it was a promo for a band. It's really not that serious, and it's not like an organization is using that to promote their point of view, a band is using it to sell records. So if you don't like it, don't buy the records.

Maybe not from the production of this one video. But this is more than likely a good indicator of how the child will be puppeted repeatedly to dilever angry messages. This will effect the kid. How, I dont know. And bands are always spitting their political views out there.

This kid has no idea what she's saying, but in 10 years of this upbringing what do you think her political outlook is going to be? It's not an example of religious upbringing vs anti-religious upbringing. It's teaching children blind ignorance and hatred vs teaching children blind ignoance and hatred for people who don't share your particular religious beliefs or lack there of.

Kind of like how Americans taught their children (near Bob Jones) that the pope is the anti-christ and catholics are going to hell...and in Catholic schools they responded by teaching kids by teaching kids how non-Catholics are ignorant heretics who god rejects

Sounds like blind ignorance across the board to me (and possible hate), and if you've ever talked to some fundamentalist protestant about the Crusades/Inquisition, you'd see definite hate as well

None of this negates what I said, and whether I have children or not is immaterial. People use children to deliver all kinds of propaganda, either in person to add shock value, or they are used as justification. This has been done countless times before, so I really don't see how this video is immoral and the other ads/promos done in this manner are not. Having a child say 'god damned' hardly qualifies as emotional damage. I think the issues many people here are REALLY having with this video stem from the monologue bashing right-wing social policy.

I never said anything about the girl. Actually, sorry, I did. I said I wouldn't blame the actor for getting paid. I blame the people who put her up to it and I say their message sucks if they need to sensationalize it by having an 8 year old say it.
