I hate pork and I'd prefer just one or two items be passed at a time but thats not how it works, democrats do the same shit all the time. Getting both bills killed was the best thing to do.

As far as the sheep commentary on the previous page, all I can say to that.. is that while there are quite a few people in the U.S. that seem content to either be led by an invisible nose ring by their party simply for the sake of having a party, there are MANY of us who regularly question things such as this.

Simply because I or anyone else choose to use Republican/Democrat/Conservative/Liberal/Independent, etc.. does in no way mean that I'm not informed or WORSE - that I'm apathetic toward what is going on in the world today and in my own country.

The cries *about* misusing the terms conservative and liberal are getting just about as old as people who sling the word liberal OR neo-con around and aim it at anyone who disagrees with them and intentionally makes it sound like they're talking about steaming pile of dog shit instead of a person of opposing viewpoints. So let's just talk about the basis of what is going on in this country and stop pulling out the pseudo-intelllectual condescending bullcrap, shall we?

Is it not only the Republican party that has abandoned its platform, but it is the party that I am officially registered with (note I said registered with.. since a few people seem to think that because a person claims a single party that that somehow makes them a sheep).

The Democrats have just as many problems as the currently in control GOP - but they have no tangible "power" at this point. I'm sure once the poltiical pendulum returns on its swing that we'll see exactly how effed up they are as well and the similarities between the R's and D's will or SHOULD become blindingly apparent to anyone who follows politics.

Good post did you get to see my critique of the dems plan after it came out? That might have been before you were active on the board
