how do i deal with these files?

i've seen these for ages and have always dismiissed them, as more often than not, whatever is in this format can be found elsewhere as a single file. i'm noticing their growing popularity, though, and would like the board's input on how to deal with them. so what do you use to re-assemble them?

They're .rar files, simply split into smaller, more manageable (for some) archives.

If you have Winrar installed, you can simply right click on any one of them and click "Extract [Here/To folder.../etc]" and it'll unpack the archive for you automatically.

Oh, re-assemble.. well, if you want it the same file size I suppose you'd have to have the same options set in whatever rar program you used that the original people did when they packed it.

You can change some settings in Winrar to split whatever archive you create into various volumes automatically

It's a retarded throwback from when people used floppy disks and split the volumes into 1.44 meg chunks. It's totally obsolete and unnecesary. I find people doing it and I remove thier scrotums.
What makes me even more mad is when people make 15 RAR riles and then zip them all up into one file. I mean what the fuck.

i thought it was fairly old, myself, but all/most of the film dvdrips on supertorrents are split like this. i thought it was making a comeback.
