You talk as if Tancredo won't be able to win the votes of many people who otherwise voted Democratic in '04 & '06 (just as John Tester won with the votes of many people who have a previous, and no doubt future history, of having often voted Republican). That's probably not reflective of reality. Allard's a party hack with little genuine appeal, while Tancredo is likely to do very well among independents, as well as to make in-roads among that 40% or so of Colorado Democrats who are tired of mass Third World immigration from Mexico.
