Tony Snow mocks media

So the first lady had a mole removed. Tony Snow announces it today. The media goes crazy trying to make a controversy out of it. Tony Snow says "it wasn't a big deal" and that Mrs Bush has medical privacy. It wasn't ever a big deal and they didn't think it rendered public disclosure sooner.

A few minutes of repetitive questions trying to spark controversy out of the deal Tony Snow started to make faces and mock the questioners. It was quite funny.

Right after he proclaims "You guys are really stretching it. I mean, it is now officially a really slow news day."

Full clip available from Hotair..

I have to say that I kinda agree with him. I don't care about Laura Bush's yucky shin, and I don't feel the need to hear about it. This isn't a big deal, and I don't want to hear about it.

But he's still a dick.

In the video the press makes a huge deal about them not saying anything regarding her skin cancer removal. He says it was a right to medical privacy and frankly not a big deal. The news media mildly freaks out. Tony is right in this case, but like it was mentioned in a previous reply he is still a dick.

Part of his problem is he is just not believable. When he is asked a question that could be considered difficult or the answer may be politically unpopular... the way he handles it is just horrible. He reminds me of a used car salesmen and you can tell he is lying just by looking at him.

The media really hates this president, his family and anything having to do with him, that is blatantly obvious with this bullshit.

I have a personal perspective on this issue. I have had skin cancer removed. Not the dangerous melanoma kind, the kind that First Lady Bush had. It is no big deal. It is an out-patient proceedure done in a medical office. The only thing scarry about it is the use of the dreaded "C" word. Everybody has a terrible image associated with that word and for good reason. She didn't want to make a big deal out of something that was not a big deal. The lesson for Snow is that you can't keep this stuff from the press and don't expect them to act in a dignified responcible manner with personal information. I think that ended with the Kennedy years? The press once watched Roosevelt be proped up at a podium to speak durring WWII and never said a damn word! It is called having class and respect.

Reporters should be assholes though. Not being assholes and refusing to ask tough questions greatly helped get us into certain situations we're in now. They're not there to be friends.

This is also true.

I think the press is trying to make up for lost questions they should have been asking 5 years ago.

Yeah, I'm not saying what they were asking is 100% appropriate, but I think they do realize they had been far too lenient on stuff in the past with this Administration and agree they're trying to make up for lost time.

You can report and also have some dignity and respect for the people you report on. You have neither.

Can you imagine what the press would do to Bush if he were on pain killers like JFK?

Why are you saying *I* have neither? Lets keep it focused on the subject rather than other posters.

And yeah, I wonder who it is we have to thank for a President's personal life becoming such a big deal.. hrm..

you're talking about someone's PRIVATE medical records, not a matter of where the president or the first lady for that matter stand on policy, they were totally 100% out of line, period.

I agree in most circumstances tough questions > * but this was ridiculous.

Asking tough questions is not the same as asking APPROPRIATE tough questions. Her medical records about a minor mole removal are not APPROPRIATE tough questions.
