So if I wrote a big novel in english about an american experience, I'd be called a Book of the East if it was more popular in Japan?

They are both books of the middle east

When will "we" get around to taking the Declaration of Independence out of the School books? Not to mention any other religious reference in our Founders writings?

Since we are going to read people minds here why not?

The same time we take out the Salem witch trials...aka never

The puritans had a huge impact on how this country was started, we don't leave anyone out

However, neither Declaration of Independence nor the Mayflower Pact has any legal standing in the United States whatsoever

There is no reading in to minds, its exactly what you say "Merry Christmas" Celebrate the birth of the Christ child, unless there is some other holiday on Dec 25th?

You're making this more complicated than it should be.

The Bible helped build Western Civilization. Much of the past 2000 years of the West has been in some form influenced by the Bible. This cannot be said of the Koran.

You are the one taking a simple statement and turning it into an insult.

Christians and secular Americans in general celebrate some form of Christmas. The proper statement is "merry christmas". It is not an insult to anyone.

Where did you get the insane idea that people are using it to insult others ?

And neither has the misinterpretations of Jefferson's writings, which by the way are Not in the Constitution.

funny how "seperation of church and state" is believed to be in the Constitution but "right to bear arms" and "prohibiting the free exercise thereof" are not found in their minds.

"Saying Merry Christmas to a Jew is basically calling their a religion a fraud because the True Messiah has come and they aren't bright enough to get with the rest of America and celebrate his birth

Jews just deal with it USUALLY because they are used to the insult, they are just happy we aren't lynching them anymore like we did in the 20th century."

That is "your" post from the War on Christmas Thread.

I wish the unbiased news media would do a poll on how many people think the word "seperation" is in the Constitution? I would bet on high numbers!

I don't know why you think you have a right to bear arms, if China invaded today what would you do, shoot down their jets with your little pistol?

The right to bear arms is the right to join a militia, which the government fails to set up properly

Yes but they've been incorporated into SC rulings and thus law

No you would group together, steal weapons from the military and use them to shoot down jets. Or do the simpler method and just get on their base and blow them up on the flight line.

In your twisted view or in reality ?

In reality, neither holiday insults the followers of any religion. But who knows what you will see.

In what way? Are you suggesting that a quotation used in an opinion to support a ruling is now law?

If the SC adopts a principle, that principle is binding

The SC never adopted the DoI as a legal principle
