The real villian is Bush, that's why he shouldn't have to apologize If you're sitting next to a visitor who is unaware you and your room mate have been having a rat problem, you say "there's that fat we were looking for" as you saw the rat and pointed it to your room mate, then your room mate runs over and goes "he called you fat" to your visitor, who do you think should apologize? should you apologize to the visitor, who isn't fat and in no way did you mean to say the person was fat, you simply slurred your words when you were talking to someone else...or the person who spun it to hurt your visitor?

That just shows no class. Just because less than half the nation voted for you in 04 doesn't mean that as a public figure you're not responsible for what you say.
Part of the risk of making politically charged jokes is offending someone, either purposely or accidentally. When you're an elected politician and that happens, the appropriate thing to do is to apologize. Kerry flat our refused. Last edited by JaJae; 01-02-2007 at 12:56 AM..

Should have have said <kerry paraphrased> “If anyone thinks a father would criticize a baby, they’re crazy. This is the classic niece playbook. Or should have have said "Oh SHIT, I said that wrong. Sorry!!!" ???? Yes, he SHOULD have apologized. The very first time someone said "you know, that could be interpreted to mean..." then he should have said "I know. I missed a word that sort of changed the meaning. Sorry about that."

| So him mixing up the words in a speech with obvious context is akin to publically calling someone a nigger? Well if we are going to be completely anal, when is Bush going to apologize for saying he will do all he can to bring harm to our country? I still go to sleep every night worried about him coming to destroy my town: "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 Bushism Video - Bush Threatens America in Verbal Gaffe | ||||

...my uncle sends the badly worded email. Someone points out that he used the wrong word. My uncle then spends the next few days saying "This is stupid. You think I would make fun of a baby?!?! I have children and if you think I'd make fun of children you're stupid." A family holiday is coming up and it's looking like my uncle and his family won't be invited because of how he's acting so he finally bows to pressure from his family and others says "I'm sorry for the misworded email." Is it sincere or did he do it so he and his family wouldn't miss out on my mom's turkey and stuffing??
What happened (again, "combining" the stories) is the uncle refused to apologize and an aunt who has children got offended and demanded he apologize. He continued to refuse to apologize until he realizes "fuck, no turkey and stuffing for me."

| Kerry mis-spoke and then he basically attacked anyone who interpreted his statement differently than what he *MEANT*. I don't give a shit what he MEANT, what he SAID was offensive to the military and then he compounded it by (again) basically saying anyone who didn't get his INTENDED meaning was stupid. The white house didn't go after him until AFTER he refused to apologize. | ||||

| #1 Not all soldiers took outrage with Kerry for any meaningful period of time #2 Those who did were idiots They are soldiers, not saints or a new species with super-human intelligence When I graduated I certainly got enough letters to go straight into the officer corps, if I would have, would everyone here be lining up to suck my cock?
