You obviously don't know much about public speaking. I know people who do it often. You ad lib all the time when you get a feel for an audience. The correct version was released ahead of time in the transcript of the prepared speech. He has a history of bungling things, the whole "voted against it before I voted for it" deal, etc, etc..

I'm pretty sure the "correct" version was given much later after the speech. As in he could have wrote whatever he wanted at that point. I don't remember hearing the transcript was released ahead of time. It was an informal speech at a university... I don't see why the transcript would even have been provided for that.

I know there were articles saying it was released ahead of time to the media present at the event. Pretty sure that's a standard thing for most speeches.
