What truth is that?

The only thing I've seen you say is that it's spin, yadda yadda, but no actual evidence has been given to contradict the fact that the transcript with the correct joke (and with the 1 word he missed in his joke) was handed out ahead of time.

Why are you afraid to answer a simple question?

And please provide some evidence for your truth. You kept asking for a transcript and I provided a link talking about it.

Now you provide proof that it was his intention all along to insult the troops.

It's unprovable. Both sides can't prove anything. There is no "fact" as to whether or not it was a botched joke. People will believe what they want to believe. Personally I think he misspoke and handled it very wrong.

There are facts, the "Hate John Kerry First" crowd just choose to ignore them.

The fact is, he left out one word. Maybe it was a 'freudian slip', maybe not, that's wishful thinking, insinuation, assumption, and nothing more. But he certainly didn't intend to insult the troops. At least not at that event, in public, at what was a fairly big event if I remember right. He intended to insult Bush.

A transcript that included that one word was handed out with the rest of the press junket like texts of most speeches are, so the obvious conclusion is that he simply screwed up.

Did he handle it wrong? Of course he did.

As far as this topic, seems like it's being debunked. Who knew after all the right wing hoopla about Lebanon they'd resort to trickery with photos and latching onto something like this?

Yes, one word would have changed the meaning of his joke. But how can you say it's "fact" he intended to say something he didn't say?
When he gave the "joke" half the audience gasped, half laughed... as reported by the media at the event. When half your audience gasps, wouldn't you think maybe you should pause and correct yourself? If I'm giving a speech and I say "women belong in the kitchen." and my audience gasps when my joke was supposed to be "We men belong in the kitchen", wouldn't I pause and think about what just happened? Maybe be like.. "oh shit?". Perhaps a correction. Kerry proved to be a good public speaker during his debates. He's competent enough to think through his speeches.

And, once you get into the maybe's and someone's "intentions" you're not dealing with fact anymore.

But that transcript has not been posted on this board or on the internet so you're the one who has no proof to support your claim that is is a joke. I've looked for it and have not been able to find anything that confirms you're claim.

Put up the transcript or a scan of the original speech or admit you're the one who's providing spin control. I'm a fair person, if you can show me the speech and it supports your claimI will drop this issue, but you haven't shown me a shred of evidence that it is a botched joke. So therefore you're the one who'/s providing the spin.

Provide the evidence or stop the spin.

Of course he later released it to more people because the demand was there, but the guy who edited that into Wikipedia using convienent phrasing dosen't change anything.

As you can see, when shadows are lifted, it's apparent that almost everyone in the Embassy mess at the hour in question was eating breakfast with only a couple of folks, and most of them are apparently (nothing's actually obvious in the picture) not troops. There seem to be more uniformed servers in the shot than uniformed Gis. In fact, the guy in the OD jacket sitting across from Kerry seems as likely to be a soldier as almost anyone in the mostly empty mess hall. Anyone else at Kerry's table has been conveniently cropped from the shot. It's just a typical, if not particularly effective, smear job.
