Take the source into consideration here. Of course it's Bush's fault the power plants are abiding by Bush's laws..., but coal power is unhealthy for those living around it. Nuclear power has no negative side effects. And with modern technology they're essentially meltdown proof.

The process of using coal for power gets in the air, the water, and ultimately leads to death and higher cancer rates. My argument for nuclear power was that it's not just better for the enviornment. It's better for humans too. The greenies don't realize that the side effects of these "dirty" power plants is worse for the environment and our health than the contained toxic waste from a nuclear plant.

In a nuclear plant the waste is collected and stored. In a dirty power plant it's exposed into the environment and kills us.

If they're violating laws they need to be shut down.

Clean coal is significantly better than regular coal fired plants.

Nuclear is already making a comeback.

Areva is signing contracts to build their newest generation of reactors, Westinghouse just got their first contracts for AP1000s signed by China, and several more on unsigned order in the US. GE is getting on the same boat with the ABWR.

Several countries are already talking fuel reprocessing (finally), as well. Environmental opposition to nuclear is at a historic low, really.
