| There is a bit of misconception in this thread. Some people seem to believe that if they are capable of something, then everyone else is. This often isn't the case. An example is: Studying and getting skilled. There are a number of reason why this is not possible for everyone. The biggest problem is people do know how to go about it or even how to find out about it. They may be capable mentally, but they just cannot do it. Not everyone can get up and change who they are. | ||||

| It certainly can be, more often with highly skilled individuals. With many jobs however, the employer has a power over employees. Not because he can direct them, though that certainly helps, but because people need to earn money to survive and feed their families. Immediate need is more important then looking for a better job. | ||||

| sure it is, you have plenty of options. first off, you could not take the job if the pay was not high enough, or you could request a higher wage. Your employer could say yes or no, and then you would make your decision whether you want to continue to work there. you could also not quit but go on strike, etc etc | ||||

If minimum wage was removed today, there would be several jobs that would not pay as much, and there would not be pay increases like how the government would like to artificially insert into the market. Thus there would be less inflation. There minimum wage jobs because there is low skilled work that is not work very much but the government mandates that the worker be given an artificial amount of compensation.

wages will fall, however the cost of living continue to go up. So wil inflation. The seperation of the classes will increase even more. so what will happen? More poor people will get and qualify for welfare. Thus this increased the tax burden.. and as such taxes are raised. It's just as plausable as your scenario. oh, and I make this "about me" because when those that work minimm age are called lazy or uneducated, I'm in that lump.
