So If A Media News Source Ran On Being Openly Biased..

So FOX Network runs on the being "The Most Fair Network", how do you think, for either conservatives or liberals, that an openly biased newssourve would do in the market?

And by openly bias I mean you hear things being said like "We're not going to air this piecve because it's a bunch of liberal bull/conservative hackiery".

I want news with a little commentary, not commentary with a little news.

I hope people all want the same.

otherwise people will just pick and choose news (as if they don't already)

I think even Rush acts as if he's the "voice of the people" rather than bias

So I think Fox is pretty much the limit of how partisan you can go before people start wondering if you should be classified with the 700 club instead of CNN

Fox is the least balanced network.

Like Pro Street said, I want mostly news with a little commentary. Foxnews is nearly all commentary. That's how they try to get away with such blantant bias.

He's the voice of himself and people tune in. Not that hard to understand. Hell, liberal radio couldn't even survive in NY

Liberals don't need opinions force-fed to them, it's enough when progressives will point out articles, but you read them yourselves and draw your own conclusions

How is a radio program force feeding? People listen to him because they think he is interesting. Even people that don't agree listen to him because they think he's interesting. Don't make it more then it is, an entertaining person with interesting views (which is why Liberal radio failed, they didn't have anyone with those traits).

Give me a break... Liberals tune into their biased televised networks, read their ridiculously biased newspapers and take everything the liberal elites of academia as unquestioned truth . To say they're not force-fed opinions is a joke. People on both sides like to get their news from sources that reaffirm their predisposed beliefs.

So you're comparing CNN's Situation Room, Washington Post, and the top Universities of the world to Sean Hannity?

I would invite you to substantiate your claims and move beyond speculation or small anecdotes

I'm comparing the mindsets of liberals and conservatives as being similar in having the human desire to fulfill their beliefs.

You can pretend I wrote something else, spin the meaning of my post or invite me to do whatever you want, but I have no intention of furthering a media vs media pissing match. Just trying to debate the faux liberal elitist attitude going on in this thread. Claiming conservatives need to be spoon fed their beliefs and liberals are the ones who are elite and intelligent and have the ability to think for themselves isn't just ignorant, stereotypical, and insulting... it's just flat out wrong.

Let's see. When liberals go to liberal websites, read liberal books, listen to liberal radio and watch liberal shows they are free thinkers. When non-liberals do those things they are being force fed? The stupidity is endless....

I almost never listened to "liberal radio" and its ratings prove that the 40% of the electorate who almost always vote democratic didn't either

I go to conservative and liberal websites, so do many liberals

I don't know what you call a liberal book, but I don't regard many conservative hit pieces out there as "intellectual" and among the corresponding counter-points, I avoid them, as do many others

On the other hand, radio programs like Hannity basically parrot GOP talking points for hours on end, and get huge ratings

Conservative editorialists are in no short supply, check out realclearpolitics and everyday you can have access to almost dozens of conservative editorials from newspapers around the US on every issue

"Conservative books" are one of the biggest schemes ever, they try to out-do each other on who can say the most outrageous thing next, something not found on Amazon's top 10, but Ann Coulter writes her latest book on how American should become basically a fascist Christianist state and she hits #1 almost instantaneously

Al Franken wrote one book that was pretty decent, and throughout it he never turns conservatives into a lost group of hateful people

Ann Coulter thrives on hate, advocating physical violence or death to liberals

Bill O'Reilly blasts the "left" everynight for an hour to something like 2 million viewers...has so for years, Moore made 1 maybe 2 really political movies and you basically never hear from him unless some conservative digs up sometihng he said in some internet post basically no one on the left read

C&L posts media clips that are almost always unedited, and if they are it is made clear that they are edited

WSJ and NY Times is a pretty fair comparison, except liberals don't cry everyday about the WSJ, yet right wingers can't shut up trying to turn the NY Times into an agent of terrorism

That you can come compare these and not find glaring differences leads to the obvious conclusion that you don't objectively evaluate their respective work

And Al Franken had a very successful book called Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot. There's a market for all. Sorry if that bothers you

Who says he hates millions of Americans. At what point did you completely change your argument with this straw man?
