| Democratic Candidates: 94,965,901 (50.16% of the two-party vote) Republican Candidates: 94,369,075 (49.84% of the two-party vote) CNN.com Election 2004 - U.S. Senate http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2002/pages/results/senate/ http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2000/pages/results/senate/ Simple math, they should control the Senate because they have more than 50% When it comes to the house, everyone knows Texas and other states gerrymandered to maximize GOP districts, Dems have been more fair, in states like Cali they gave Dems and GOPers districts where each would get 60%+ of the vote, when they could have gained more seats by gerrymandering more and getting 53-55+ and picking up maybe 5+ seats Again, if you add up all the house votes, and all the democratic house votes from 2004, Dems got more votes | ||||

| We are talking about addition to get to 50%, what it gods name does that have to do with getting a super-majority or getting some higher percentage? Saying "oh so they get over 50% of the vote, who cares" that violates every democratic principle i can think of in any elections except the EC and we weren't talking about the presidential election In congress, if you get 50%+1vote, you win Democrats get 50%+1vote in both Senatorial Races and Congressional Races, hence if things were fair, the Democrats would ALREADY control Congress | ||||

its not the system...i mean if we just were able to get dems to move around, we'd have won congress and senate even in 2004 | ||||

| we aren't talking about a particular congressmen, we are just saying if you add all the votes for all democrats in Congress up, they outweigh republicans...aka there are more DEMOCRATS WHO ACTUALLY VOTE than REPUBLICANS WHO ACTUALLY VOTE No, both parties don't get fucked because more state legislators are controlled by republicans...if people are voting for Democrats more than Republicans, and they dont control either chamber, then its the Democrats who are getting fucked | ||||
