That's an interesting question, since it's art, can't you take from it what you want?

Surely not everyone gets the same thing out of seeing a Monet or the Mona Lisa.

Did the artist say "this is what this is about"? If so, that's what it's about. If you assign more or other meaning to it then, IMO, you're wrong.

I think a lot of artists don't assign meaning to their work because they want people to draw whatever conclusions they want from the piece.

The designer said why there are 7 points. Sure anyone can assign another meaning but he'd be wrong.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but people reinterpret the meaning of various pieces of artwork all the time, there's nothing wrong with it.

If you're going to lay out a theory of what the meaning of something is other than "what it means to me [you]" -- it should be backed up with some reasoning, though.

The link in the OP, whether you agree with their conclusions, has at least tried to make their case for their theory.. you haven't.

Again, if you want to re-interpret artwork has having some different meaning, more than simply "what it means to you" or "what you take from it," then you need to at least make a case for it.

Granted, I haven't read the entire thread, but maybe you've created a website explaining Quartangs and Nehhbrala and < > somewhere..

My case for it is "because that's how I interpret it."

His case for the rays meaning something other than the 7 seas and 7 continents is "The rays on her head can mean whatever they mean to the viewer."

The other guy's speculation is the rays stand for the sun.......I guess because rays come from the sun?

If he's allowed to speculate so am I.
